The odd mixture of emo, punk, pop-punk, metal, and just about anything else. As a note, this is by no means a good measure of my real tastes. Certain genres get over-represented, others under-represented. I only have music scrobed when I am listening on my computer, which tends to be in the evenings (so calmer music) and I am generally doing other stuff (so music that fades into the background well). When I am out or at work, I listen on my mp3 player, so my wake up music and my work music are not very well represented (I listen to the music all day, when I get home I am in the mood for something different).

Use it mostly for concert calendars, haha. Oh yeah! And ticket selling/buying.

I just use it for statistics just in case my Amarok install gets corrupted and both my hard disks fail, all on the same day. Mostly power metal, melodic death metal, metal xD, and you could probably find some OST's from RPG's and anime if you dig deep enough.

As usual, VERY LOW compatibility with everyone lol, except with kostya, which is strange since I don't listen to any his top bands. Oh well, shouldn't rely on a computer to tell me my music tastes :P

I roomed with a guy who listens to a lot of metal. He sends me bands to listen to all the time. Most of them I will give about 100 or so plays before I decide that the band is no good though I have liked some. I have a good 1.3k listens of Kamelot.

I feel like compatibility should be weighed by percent of play time or play count (at least it seems like it isn't).  There are quite a lot of people here who I'm "Compatible" with when I don't even recognize the top artists.

I just paid for one month, let's see how much listening I can get done. I still have to get to know the site. I don't know how much you can do on it yet. What I do is playing radios of bands I like so I'll get to listen to music of the same kind. That it?

Started using last.fm a week ago, was very surprised to discover that I had an (inactive) account there from 2007 or so. Thank god I only use 3 passwords for my net-stuff, else I'd have been forced to pick another username, since most likely I wouldn't have remembered the pw.

if any of you use foobar2000, theres a cool component called "soft playlists" that scans your/friends/nieghbours last.fm profiles and generates a playlist for you, pretty good when you cant decide on what to listen to!

Oh man, playing Klaus Badelt radio, and I'm getting all kinds of epic stuff like John Williams, Howard Shore, Hans Zimmer, Brian Tyler and Harry Gregson-Williams. A perfect way to get to listen to OSTs that would otherwise be a pain in the ass to find somewhere.
