Classic Anime - Request Thread

The dedicated thread for all those classic anime you want to see subbed.

We are a small group with only enough resources to subtitle OVA's and Movies. Doing a TV series is simply beyond us right now.

Also if anyone has any raws of the titles requested either on VHS, Laserdisc or DVD, please let us know, I'm sure we could reach an agreement :)

Both are remastered and released by Bandai on DVD with special features including the OST on cd, I recommend geting those. I don't mean to sound preachy but please let's try to support the industry when something obscure like this does get released, especially if we want to see more of it in the future.

Requesting Naki no Ryuu.

This is what I'm talking about, someone suggesting an obscure OVA, that no one's ever heard of. The first episode is actually available raw on youtube - Naki no Ryuu 01 (Click Here). Episodes 2 and 3 are not available it seems.

It's hit and miss, but I've actually found some pretty decent raws through ed2k on occasion, some were actually better than what we already had and will be used in upcoming releases.  If you could manage to get a requested Anime's raw of decent quality this way we would be much more likely to take on the project.

It can hard for us to find time to hunt down and acquire rare raws in addition to working on the rest of the subbing process, we also have a stockpile of over a dozen old school raws in que and ready to be worked on.

The biggest problem is finding a peer to download from and then they can be incredibly slow, but completing an otherwise extinct file even in a week or two is a great accomplishment  :)

Because we want to? Most new anime are either well-subbed or are licensed and will be released in dual audio form anyway, including your request of Gunslinger Girls II. The thing is that we're not likely to the fast, so what's the point of spending our time when it's going to be released anyway?

Requesting Trinity Blood
Trinity blood can be found. It's already subbed AND in dual audio. Totally rejected.

I would like to request Armrored Trooper Votoms: Heretic Saint/Shining Heresy. It's that 5-part OVA that was made in 1994 that is set 32 years after the main Votoms series.

Just for clarification, how old does the anime need to be in order to be classic?

it doesn't have to be old per se, but something that has little-to-no chance of being subbed is what we are looking for. Generally anything that isn't subbed now originating from the mid-90s or earlier are possible candidates.
Note that requests are great, but we would also need the raws...

I found some raws of Votoms: Shining Heresy on Youtube from some guy in Japan. I don't know where to look for raws though, so I can't find anything in higher quality and without each episode being split up into 3 parts.

I don't know for this series, but look for example at Amazon in Japan. You can switch the user interface partially to English; in the same way as the Western versions they also link to 3rd party sellers with used anime as well.
