Last thing you ATE?
« on: December 07, 2011, 04:36:42 am »
Often, I find myself at home or at the grocery trying to think of something different or new to eat, tired of the same old stuff and so I decided to make this thread. It is intended to be functional, at least for me, not specifically to be a new spam/sister thread to the "what are you drinking thread." However, I guess it is basically the same thing.

What I would like to see are actual food items. Like breakfast, lunch, dinner or whatever, not really what the last type of chewing gum you had. Main courses, appetizers, or full meals. As I said up top, I want this thread to help me in getting ideas to add more diversity to my pantry / refrigerator because lately I have been noticing that I have been eating a lot of the same things or using the same ingredients in many of my meals.

I welcome unique items or personal recipes and such, since the whole idea here is to get ideas for new stuff to eat.
Also, feel free to say a few words about the item or add a recipe if its a personal recipe or something.

So, I guess I will start.

I just had a few deviled eggs that I made earlier. Traditional recipe with a bit finely diced celery mixed in and then paprika and a bit of chili powder on top.
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.

PS- I chose to make it a "last thing you ate" thread rather then a "favorite food" thread in order to keep the ideas coming so some people might post multiple times. The more ideas the better!

Substantial?

Udon soup w/ veggies w/ leftover rotisserie chicken w/ sprig of cilantro and a healthy dolloping of chili sauce.

Otherwise, since I keep chewing at my lip, I presume human flesh would be the "correct" answer.

Beef with barbque sauce, peppers and cheese wraps and bombay potato chips. Trying to empty all our stuff out of the freezer before we move.

In about 5 minutes I'll be eating Philadelphia on toast.

Question... wtf is the stuff on top of the devilled egg? You said celery and whatnot... what else? I guess I can google it, but I've had so many different variations that taste so varied, I have no idea which is which. It doesn't help that I also attend the occasional events with Mennonites, so foods like "sweespah", "rollkuchen" or different home made devilled eggs, sugar cookies, ginger snaps, some type of frosted brown cookie, home made jams and jam filled cookies etc. are available.

Na, just typical deviled eggs, with paprika and chili powder. That pic was just a generic google images pic since I found out that not everyone know what they are.

Rye bread, butter, cream cheese, sausage
Ill skip the cream cheese and sausage, but rye bread and butter. mmmm

Anyway- an egg over easy with tomato and jalapeno.

Advil, if that counts.

If not, Just Right. If you're American, it's like...I'm not sure, it says it's "A perfect combination of four delicious grains that you can see & taste". I think it's around in the UK, but I could be wrong.
I have my cereal without milk, so I guess that adds something odd to it.

Spicy Italian footlong on 9 grain honey oat with mozerrella cheese, toasted, and lettuce, onions, green peppers, jalepenos, parmesen, oregano, and barbecue sauce from Subway.

It was excellent.
