I woke up this morning around 6am I think, my normal time on workdays. Got up for a few minutes, then decided to go back to sleep. I didn't want to sleep too late after that but I didn't set my alarm clock. So after I fell asleep again, I proceeded to dream, over and over and over, about trying to wake up. I kept dreaming it was 10am (it's 8am now) and that I couldn't get out of bed. I kept dreaming that my eyes just would not stay open. At one point, I dreamed that I got up, went onto my porch and listened to music for a few minutes on a boom box (I don't own boom box), then went back inside the house and realized that I wasn't awake yet.
Another time, I got up & went to the bathroom to wash my face, and I heard an alarm clock start in my bathroom. I turned around and found that my roommate had fallen asleep in the bath tub, tangled up in blankets, apparently drunk. I remember asking, "What the fuck happened? What the hell are you doing here?" He mumbled, "I'll explain it in a bit," got up and stumbled out. (If logic applied, I'd assume that the alarm clock would have been his smart phone going off.)
The worst part was wanting to wake up but my body wouldn't cooperate. It's a good thing I don't sleepwalk or I could have gotten into some trouble. The lesson learned: next time, I should just set the damn alarm clock in the first place and not think about oversleeping.
