What made your day, today?
« on: April 21, 2014, 05:33:52 am »
Everyday you always encounter something that "makes your day".

So what made your day, today?

I was able to relax in a clean room (yay) plus I've finished my homework and financial aid early this morning. That made my day. Mmmm.

What made my day is that, after over 2 months of planning, I actually started writing the first scene of my story.  And, I don't hate what I wrote.  I still have a lot more planning to do, and countless days of actual writing.  But today was an important step.
If I ever meet God in person, I'm going to ask Him why he created so many stupid people, and then punch Him in the nose before he answers.

I got an internship today at a local game company. I had the extraordinary luck of getting my foot into the door in my desired field instead of having to work 4-6 years at a random software company first.
Since nobody online can ever present an intellectual discussion and internet discussions bring out the worst in me I have decided to abandon all forms of social media, message boards, and media comments. If you want something from me feel free to send me a message.

Woke slowly up, listening to the radio in bed. No work today. Or tomorrow. Having a slow breakfast now, in silence. Coffee with milk, opening my book.

That's fucking awesome. Writing something and writing something you like are a pretty big difference.

Considering this is a shitty old laptop, and cheap as fuck, it does relatively well... I said relatively.
Hell, the entire thing only cost $250 brand new

i've seen worse, and pentium 2117U isn't junk either, i think the issue is the RAM your book has, most likely its 1066Mhz.

Nah, its 800MHz. I've got a few other sticks to try.
Edit: Turns out one is 533MHz and the other is about halfway between (I didn't check it, but judging by the serial numbers on the stick)

Ontopic: nothing's made my day yet as its only 5am

800Mhz DDR3 sodimm? didn't think those still existed.

ram bandwidth is the main factor for onboard GPU performance, and CPU throughput(e.g. even if its fast if it has to stall for the next cache fetch...), so yeah a faster ram might give it more oomph.

Awesome, more Anime should be on my kitchen table tomorrow afternoon :3

3DMark test 2:

I out another stick in the first module assuming it was better than the one I already had... Oh well... A further 4GB is better than a kick in the teeth, even if it's only a slow/slight upgrade.
