Apparently you can already buy it from Japan, yes, in English.

Meanwhile I just finished paying the remaining balance on my preorder.

What other formats is this coming to so I can adjust the thread title as necessary (or should I just drop format from the title?)

PS4/PC-maybe, PLEASE?!?! Also, please get the OP nice looking. Also, just looked through the steam page, not yet available and the PC download page has 'mysteriously disappeared' from the SE NA page. But seriously, I really really want a physical copy of the bloody game, not just a steam download. I want this thing on my shelf. :(

EDIT: Also, the release date. Seriously, this is going up against Horizon Zero on PS4, which pretty much is one of the best for PS4 and then there is Legend of Zelda, probably the best console release game in history. Going up against both of them and still having some exposure is quite an achievement. I do hope this becomes more famous. I want another Nier or Darkengarde. Hell, I am more than ready for a remake of the previous games.

Alright, I'll spend an hour or so collecting some prettifying elements and format the OP somewhat nicer soon as I have a proper chance.

Thanks, those are some pretty decent requirements. I just hope they won't hard-cap the resolution to 1080p this time.
March 17th. Oh man it's going to be a long two weeks.

You mean something like this: nier-automata-day-one-edition-pc

It's not a collectors edition but it's a physical release for the pc, the question is only if everything is on the dvd(s) or if it's just an installer and/or steam code in a box...
I'm not sure about that because steam lists the game as 50GB, and I'm sure that will require a couple of dvd-roms.

Oh wow. Thank god I didn't order it on steam already. It was not there when I last checked and I didn't have any hope for it. I am sure it will come out in local store. A bit disappointed that there is no special edition or a steelcase or anything of the sort besides the reversible cover. I mean the Deluxe Edition of FF XV for PS4 was freaking awesome. And other games from SE also got similar treatment (Tomb Raider anniversary had a nice sweet little artbook). Oh well. I will compromise for now.

Most of the SE games I have bought came with full game on multiple DVDs and a steam code. Don't know how actually it is, since I installed the games with other means

While true, all three games have been in development for a long time (besides Nier - that was surprisingly smooth and fast) and all three planned to do something different and they were really really committed to making a full polished experience and not a half assed product.

It seems after a good 7 to 10 years later, we have started getting good games again. In any case, all these three games are gonna go down in history as some of the greatest ever produced. At least in my books. Ace Combat and Xenboblade 2 are the last remaining game to be released, after which I will be set for a couple of years to come.

...nioh is a Souls copycat, sure it's got it's own twist, but it is by no means different, yakuza is the 6th? game in the franchise, I have not played it, but I doubt its any different than it's predecessors, and nier...the 5th? game in it's series, the only thing making this one stand out is the top tier talent and money that's backing it, its concept and gameplay are the same as it's predecessors
(not that those games dont deserve their ratings, but they are by no means special and will be mostly forgotten before the year is out)

I didnt really want to be a critic, but since the sarcasm of my last post was lost I figured I'd hafta be a bit more crude this time

Oh. I meant Nier:Automata, Horizon:Zero Dawn and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. All three the top games for me. Seems we were on different pages, my bad.

Nier.....ok, it was weird from the start. But Platinum integration was a totally different approach. And money? Really? Nier has probably the least amount of funding a game of it's level gets. Always did. Maybe it will change in future thanks to Automata. As for talent, all were different and weird, it took a lot of convincing and in general fan support for this game to even exist.

EDIT: Nier might be a cult classic, but people who loved it rarely forgot about it. It does keep a weird lasting impression.

And Zelda's approach was really different this time. They took a lot of risk and it all paid off. Especially with the art design. Takes guts to use a different art style in a AAA game which also has a burden for a whole new console launch.

As for NioH, it's a copycat for sure. >_>

Those charts must be going by the Japanese international copy, because the game isn't even released yet...
