Synopsis: In the decade since the world became aware of the existence of magic, the world has undergone massive upheaval. However, a boy named Touta lives in seclusion in a rural town far removed from these changes. His ordinary life is highlighted by his magic-using female teacher and his supportive friends. When his tranquil daily life is disrupted, he embarks on a unique adventure.
You know how Negima! ended suddenly leaving a lot of stuff unanswered (due to some disagreement between him and his publisher?). Well, UQ Holder is the full blown sequel to it and does get to explaining what happens.
The main character seems to be our loli vamprire, Eva, though it is told with perspective of Touta, Negi's grandchild. It takes place quite a few years later and the environment is quite different with Magic being the new science and a world where immortal's are rare but known. It does start a bit rocky, but get's going after around 40 chapters. And the environment is really ambitious, but it does hold on and isn't too messed up. And quite a few returning character's as well.
But, even though it is a sequel, it is treated as stand alone (hence the boring first couple of chapters). It's going strong at 124 chapters currently and this might turn out to be a good 500 to 700 chapter manga just like Negima. Art has been improved (still don't like his squarish character design's, but oh well) and everything is clean and nice.
