This manga starts out dull and weak, at least the first chapter does. Then the second chapter gives it a good kick. Then the third chapter triples that, and so on and forth. Now it is listed as the second hottest manga on Manga Here and it only has 24 chapters. I'm on chapter 5 and this is seriously good. Nevermind the quirky art, the story and the main character are superb.

Anyone else reading this?

otherwise known as "Shield bro" on most forums.

go for the novel, the manga lacks taste compared to the novel, and it had modified or omitted quite a bit of scenes.

The manga drops the ball really hard after the Raphtalia Arc imo.
Reading it atm mainly because the art is good and so many people swear that it gets really good later on.
