Who will win the 2016 US Presidential election?
« on: November 04, 2016, 04:32:42 pm »
Make your predictions here.

I'm going to say Hillary Clinton will win but with a much smaller margin than previously anticipated. Probably within a 1-3% margin. Counting the ballots will probably go well into the early AM hours.

A week ago I would have said something like a 9-12% lead but that lead has clearly dissolved thanks to the FBI's announcement.

Well, make your prediction. Let's see who can get the closest to the actual outcome.

I don't have to think about predictions... Nate Silver's already done all the work for me!

http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2016-election-forecast/?ex_cid=rrpromo

He's projecting roughly an 80% chance that Clinton will win the popular vote by less than 4%.  This sounds extremely realistic to me.  I don't know that Clinton ever had a 9-12% lead at any point.

My prediction: Clinton will win but we are still gonna keep hearing about Trump non-stop for a little while as he tries to sue everyone for his loss.

Clinton by a 3-4% margin, which the media will call a landslide.

Hillary will win both the popular vote and the electoral vote by a landslide but Trump will become the president anyway because when you're famous you can do whatever you want. Just grab America by the pussy.

Probably Trump, because when it comes down down to it, the socially unevolved American voters will still go for the male.

It was much less likely for a Black Man to be elected President than a Woman. For one, there are more women elected as governors, as senators, as congresswomen, and in every other office than Persons of Colour of both genders -- both as Republicans and Democrats, and in every region of the United States. 29% of elected politicians in the US are Women, whereas only 10% are non-White (the least represented are Women of Colour) -- and that obviously breaks down further.

So, of all the political minorities in the United States -- White Women are the most likely to find higher office by a substantial margin.

It's going to come down to angry (mostly white) people who blame others for their problems vs Latinos, the very people the angry (mostly white) people blamed for their problems.

I think privately most people think Trumps going to win and from the amount of unjustifiable vile I've see in American Culture as of late I would tend to agree. However for ironies sake, immigrants might actually stave off the anarchist choice.

I think Hillary will win. The race itself will be close and Trump might win the popular vote but Clinton will win the electoral college with well over 300+ delegates. That's just my observation.

Predicting that a republican will win the popular vote but a democrat will win the electoral vote isn't a safe bet. Not only is it extremely rare for a president to win without the popular vote, the way the electoral college is set up also gives an small advantage to Republicans. Smaller states have fewer popular votes per electoral votes and most small states are Republican.

Curious if anyone thinks that Jill Stein or Gary Johnson will be a spoiler candidate in any state? Neither has a chance of winning nationally, but would be interesting if votes for them end up deciding if HC or DT win a state.
