At the moment my favourite would have to be Gin and Tonic (currently I am using Beefeater '24' as the basis of mine). Other favourites include Cariboo Lou (1 shot 151 Rum, 1 shot Malibu rum, and 5 shots pineapple juice, it leads to a very good night) and Goslings Gold Rum with Coke Zero.

well for the good ones you don't really need a mix as they're good as it is.

but for the cheap commercial kind they're bland and sometimes even harsh, so mixing them with something compatible tastes better.

True enough, though I have been enjoying that harsh taste lately (as I am saying this I am sipping on Meukow VS Cognac, which is fairly harsh).

I like to mix a bit Nikkoru and kitamesume, its delicious.
