What the hell..? How am I just now hearing about this? Apparently the decision was made back into May and it will go into law in December.

Here's a relevant reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/Political_Revolution/comments/5f5vl0/tor_vpn_users_labeled_as_criminals_will_be_hacked/

Your topic says the correct words. Users that show probable cause will have a warrant issued against them to do a remote hack. The rule is not the much different from what used to be there. The difference is you had to get the warrant in the jurisdiction the computer was at. So if you where in New York working on a case and you thought the computer was in California you would have to go through all the tape of getting a judge in California to issue the warrant now a judge in New York can issue the warrant.

But what about offshore? It was previously impossible altogether but several countries have signed the TPP so now the FBI can even get a warrant for overseas.
