Haha, I was just thinking something like this might be needed. No, there's currently no way to re-check AniDB information, but I will add one in the next version.

It crashed while hashing files when "AniDB not available" popped up. It also doesn't seem to be hashing properly. I ran it overnight but didn't complete.

Edit:
Code: [Select]
Package 42985UFSoft.Anibu_1.2.7.0_x64__kcwtxtj7a0wxc+App was terminated because it took too long to suspend.
Could this have caused the app not to complete hashing?

Feature request: Rename files.

It's kinda hard trying to rename files one by one. Perhaps automating it could help. AniDB O'matic doesn't work well.
Of course, there are titles with question marks or slash marks that could cause error in renaming. I'd like to hear your idea on a workaround for this one.

Why do you need to rename files?

Actually, never mind about that. I realized that Anibu already organizes your library.

Why do you need to rename files?

cleaner file names? sometimes some groups puts so much stuff in the file name.

for example:
[AnimeNOW] Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou - 01 (BD 1280x720 10-bit x264 AAC) [E732FC8F].mkv

If you browse your library through Anibu instead of your file explorer of choice, episode titles are shown automatically as the ones  found on AniDB, or it's just simply shown as Episode 1, 2, 3 etc when no titles were found. As such, renaming files wouldn't contribute in any way when using the program.

I think it's fine as it is, bulk file renaming can be done using dedicated lighter programs if needed (I did have a really straightforward one around, but I guess I lost it), but that's just my 2 cents.

ridon428, glad you got it sorted out. I'm also looking at your crash now, but I'm not able to figure anything out without a minidump. Have you been able to get the crash again?

Also, the app is now free on the Windows Store.

What is the way in which a show is considered to be part of a season?
https://puu.sh/upvk0/260e99c75d.png Gabriel dropout appears in Autumn 2016, but it's a Winter 2016 show.
https://puu.sh/upvnL/a84a66a4b7.png
Is it based on AniDB data or is it calculated by the date?

It's calculated from the start date based on splitting the year into 3-month intervals for seasons: http://anime.stackexchange.com/questions/4327/how-are-anime-seasons-released

How is this coded? And chance for a port to mono maybe? A fully rewrite for Linux would be silly, but running it in Wine or Mono would be fine for me. any was of getting a stand alone download to try it out?

It's written in C++/CX, which is a Microsoft specific variant of C++ for interfacing with the new Windows Runtime API. Sorry, no chance for a mono port. A standalone version is just the appx packages the Windows Store downloads, so you might as well get it from the store.

Sigh... Only Windows PC in the house still runs Windows 7. We've been fighting hard for some time to not update it. One of the few not running that monstrosity.
