Help with VHS Ripping
« on: December 14, 2016, 09:59:37 pm »
Orphan is looking for help ripping VHS tapes; in particular, the 4 part OVA series Kasei Yakyoku. The existing raws are dreadful.

The VHS tapes are readily available in Japan, and Orphan has team members there who can buy them; but no one on our team has the equipment to rip them. According to Technogirls, there are Laserdiscs too, but apparently they are very rare, and no copies have been found.

Thanks.

Indeed, if you have a working VHS deck with good tracking and picture fidelity, capture is not difficult... It's the deck that's the problem. I haven't had a working one in 3 or 4 years, and they're not made anymore.
