.
I've racked up neat little collection of anime OST & music collections here since my last post in this thread.  I'll recommend several when I've the time, but want to put this one out there right now:

 • Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto ~Natsu no Sora~ OST Collection (FLAC)

Wow.  Just beautiful.  Has a solid few bluesy tracks (Bourbon to Rock is a haunting example), a couple that rock out nicely (definitely queue up My Kitten and bleed the ears a bit).  However, it has a number of slow & quiet, beautiful acoustic/folksy pieces, and a number of Celtic-influenced tracks.  The girl who does the vocals has a wonderful voice, similar to Nora Jones but, in my opinion, much better.

Oh, and the anime is beautiful, too.  Wonderful story.

Holidays are crushing me, so I'm short on time these days ... however, I need to come back to this thread & recommend about a dozen more soundtracks; there's some pretty amazing stuff here at bakaBT.  I especially love the amount of *.flac goodness to be found here.

Thank you, all contributors!!  :D 8)
I win, once again, in my never-ending struggle against victory.

Hakaima Sadamitsu OST
Range of emotions, and musical genres, but includes some very unique and emotional pieces.  Stuff like spaghetti-western-style spanish classical, trance, industrial rock, eurobeat.

Niea 7 OST
Includes two sets.  One set is a collection of old (and very old) classical blues and jazz.  The other is a set of newer original jazz played with unusual arrangements like ukelele, pipe organ, etc.  Pretty cool.

Kuchu Buranko (Trapeze) OST Collection
Excellent set of very original, cutting-edge music.  There are some amazing electronica pieces, some trance, jazz, some very nice piano.  Just a wild extravaganza of awesomeness!!

Assuming it doesn't have to be anime:

Donnie Darko

Clint Mansell's Requiem for a Dream
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKLpJtvzlEI

Frank Klepacki (he did the C&C music, amongst others), though he does release albums now.

EDIT: Damn, missed the part where a link to the forum was needed. I guess it IS just anime :/

I loved both Ef ~ A Tale Of Memories and Ef ~ A Tale of Melodies soundtracks, specially the tracks that were only piano and violin. What OSTs are similar?

Bokura Ga Ita OST
I personally recommend the album "Eien" since it's the best with a mix of the "full songs" used in the anime.
The songs are all very beautiful and emotional and can all tell you a story.
The CD 'Eien'
or if you want the whole collection
Bokura ga ita music collection

Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica collection.
Oh lord, I can not even begin to describe this. I think this has lots of classical influence in it, but there are elements of techno and even some metal.

When this thread is finished (if that's possible), every single OST on BBT will probably have been mentioned at least once.

Jormungand OST

Artists: Yutaka Fukuoka, Santa, Taku Iwasaki, Silvio Anastacio

Genre: mixed bag of everything. Most likely won't like all songs, but won't hate all either. Some rap, some electronic, some blues and some battle music among other things.

Fist of the North Star.  The first track listed above is legendary.  If you hear it, you'll understand why.
