Title: Reccomendations.

Alright, My Favorite Anime show ever Is Death Note. I absolutely love the show, mainly from going to persceptive of Light then to L. How they're both geniuses and the hole death god deal. Aswell as the detective aspect in there. Does anyone know something similar to this show?

If you like detective-style anime, you might like Monster. Great animation and art; Madhouse doesn't disappoint in that area. The story (adapted from manga) is also well-told, dropping clues that don't add up until later in the series.

If you like detective anime try Detective Conan. You can't get it on box though.

Ergo proxy will provoke your thought, if you are able to wrap your mind around the subjects presented.

But i have not watched death note, so i cant say if its the same.

I think you should try Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro. Give it a try with a few eps. [hint: detective work, funny phrases, interesting storyline]

I've checked out monster... enjoying it very much.
Ive also been watching Claymore... excellent, Kinda did a flip from detective type stuff to brutal girls killing Yoma and awakened beings.
I aswell realized i enjoy reading subs with jap. sound. Just a lot better, can't really explain it.
If anyone has other good anime recommendations that doesnt deal with detective or the claymore type genre let me know, right now im pretty much into anything with a very good storyline and keeps ya wanting more and more. I don't think i'd be interested in any romance or anything. as the same with sports type animes. but ill try anything that someone recommends.

the most similar character ive ever seen. . .like another light yagami is Called Lelouch Lamperouge =p
hes from code geass and its pretty similar

a person that gets this OMFG WTF pwer and he has his own plans to create his "perfect world" and well here in code geass also for revenge =p

With that much excitement im gonna HAVE to watch that series lol. Ive heard a lot of talk about Code geass(spelled right?). Seeing all i do is read these recommendation posts. So it must be a "must see" series. Althought im not too big in anything thats "off the wall" popular in the states. like Bleach, naruto, DBZ, Pokemon... anything of that sort. but, this could be an exception as the same to death note.

You will find that nobody recommends those type of "over hyped" anime except for people who actually ask for it. Most people actually recommend against watching those anime ;)

CG and DN are not qualified in that category according to most people, but it depends who you ask.
