Title: Seeding Issues
Post by: AkatsuNoRyuu on July 22, 2008, 09:40:01 AM
Well before I get yelled at I want to clear up that I've read the FAQ (http://wiki.bakabt.me/index.php/FAQ) and tried my best but still can't understand what's going on.  I was seeding a few torrents and up to about 30 min ago they were all showing up on my profile page...now only 1 torrent is showing and the rest are not!
I tried getting a new torrent pass and logging back in but to no avail.  Only that one torrent shows up on my profile...it can't be an issue w/my IP b/c I have at least one torrent connecting to the tracker, right?  What should I do...sorry I'm just not the brightest when it comes to this bit torrent stuff :(

First of all, what error are your other torrents reporting? Also, do check the tracker URLs for all of them and make sure the passkey matches that of your account (since you just changed your torrent pass recently).

Currently I have 3 torrents running but only 2 are showing up.  I didn't do anything different to the 3rd one...I re-downloaded it w/the new key but it won't show up.  Also, my torrents aren't reporting any errors.
As a matter of fact the strange thing is one of the torrents on my page is not active right now as there are no leechers but the one not showing up is uploading...I'm a bit confused.

The user page may take some time (a few hours) to update; on occasion it shows torrents I've deleted from hard drive for up to 6 hours afterwards. Give it some time to update, and if the problem persists after 1 day let us know again.

Yeah I read that in the FAQ but it was strange b/c all my torrents were there and then they were gone.
Thank you so much for the help and I hope I'm not annoying you too much w/my n00bish questions LOL.

When you generate a new torrent pass, Jarudin says you should wait a little while (10 minutes) to be sure it has taken effect.

Hello... I also noticed there are two "missing" torrents from my active seeding ones, and they are: Torrent ID=127926 {- Campus Special Investigator Hikaruon - OVA} and Torrent ID=126991 {Kokoro Library OST (320kbps)}
First, I thought I had stopped them -somehow- before leaving the pc unattended for around 3 hours, so I looked out for them in my list of stopped torrents: Obviously, couldn't find them there, since they were still active in my torrent client list (UTorrent).
Then, checked them in order to find out if they had been removed from the box: They are still there.
Both of them seem "active" from the point of view of the UTorrent, so an off-synch is out of the question; therefore, they should also appear as active in my list of 'userdetails'.
I'd like to add 2 points:
1) 1 hour upload-worth seems to be missing from my total upload, which means something happened to the tracker, but it was left unnoticed, since my 'oldest active torrents' show "n" minutes ago for 5 days (my last system restart).
2)This torrent, which used to have a 1.000 ratio (or was it 1,000?) suddenly changed to something like this:
Torrent: X Densha de Ikou | Take the X Train  ID=130056
Size    Uploaded    Downloaded   Ratio
699MB     1.95MB       1024KB   2,001.578 <<<--- here...
That was around 8 hours ago, which means there have been some changes lately; with any change there is the risk of altering something else... lol?
By the way...
On a side-note, I already had this ova/movie, but since it was gotten from another source, I didn't have the 'X Densha de Ikou.sfv' file embedded in the torrent.

On a secondary note, the Last Seen, didn't it show something like " '5 mins ago for 5 days and 'n' hours " when it's been more than a day?... I can't see the ' n hours ' in my torrents statistics.

Lastly, of course I stopped those two torrents and restarted them once again, to see if the tracker would recognize them, and they're still unlisted as active. There must be other users who now have less torrents listed as active for them too, without a doubt...
I won't regenerate the pass-key, since I don't consider it to be the problem causing this; however, if someone proves it, I'll have no other choice but to regenerate it too.. (I still haven't updated some of my torrents that have the old tracker... lol?)
I hope this problem gets fixed soon and the tracker ~if it's the responsible for this~ to get better soon...

Best Regards and have a good day.

You do the math.

It only shows hours if it's less than a day, maybe two, I don't remember.

Make sure the announce URL is not a public announce URL, it should look like tracker.boxtorrents .com/aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa/announce.php and not public.boxtorrents. com/aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa/announce.php

Hello again. Sorry for the late reply, I just installed a windows update which popped out regarding domain name service and security issue, installed it, closed manually UTorrent, restarted the pc (after installing the update you are pestered to restart) and my stats/user details are back to normal... Now I can continue to leech... err.. I mean I can continue to accumulate bonus-points with those two titles like I had done since a added them weeks ago; bonus-points somehow look cool when they're in high-numbers, after all... lol...

On a side-note, Utorrent doesn't use cookies, does it?... I was thinking about erasing the cookies after closing the Utorrent, restart the pc and see if things went back to normal... luckily for me that windows update appeared...

By the way, the torrents I still haven't updated look like http://tracker.boxtorrents.com:2710/announce.php
At least one of them is missing from the box by now, the other one was a zip file and now is unzipped and the other ones were torrent-swapped... and since I've already lost some pieces from torrent contents while 'redownloading' the swapped ones, I won't update them unless I get some space to back them up first...

Before finishing, I'd like to ask 3 more questions:
1) How 'often' does the top 10 refresh?... Is it set on a weekly basis by now?... lol
2) I remember that before the addition of the bonus-points checkbox tab to the browse I could watch the long list of 'inactive' torrents (aka, 0 seeds, 0 leechers); but after 2 days of implementing such tag, I haven't been able to browse through them anymore... Is there a way to peruse through them again?...
3) Regarding Double-Post... Even if the topic belongs to a very-different matter, is it allowed to start a new post, or you must edit the former one (when the last listed post is yours, of course)?...

* mb --> gb.... lol and thanks

Thanks for your time.
Best Regards.

1) hourly
2) "Unseeded torrents (http://www.boxtorrents.com/browse.php?onlydead=1)"
3) no comment

Gee... your reply was faster than my refresh page... lol

I just checked again
http://www.boxtorrents.com/topten.php
and my username is listed under top ten bonus-points (rank 2); however, it's a little off by now... it shows me with 16547 bp, and a ratio of 0.961, while my current numbers are 17047 bp and 0.965 share ratio... using the bp to calculate the off-synch, it gives us 50 hours of difference... is the bonus top-10 refreshing at a different rate than the rest of the stats?... I can't use other means of comparison since I haven't browsed through this one as of late.

Regarding the 'Unseeded' ones, only show those with at least a leecher, and eventually, if you're lucky, only some with '0' seeders and '0' leechers appear.

When I click on the checkbox for 'unseeded torrents only'
http://www.boxtorrents.com/browse.php?search=&only=0&description=0&onlydead=1&reorder=1&incomplete=1&lossless=1&hd=1&multiaudio=1&bonus=1&c1=1&c2=1&c3=1&c5=1

It shows something like 103 results in four pages (30 results per page), and all of them have at least 1 leecher, no seeds, of course.

I remember that early this year there still existed the feature " Browse through Dead Torrents "... which did all of the job, incluiding unseeded ones...
But it's no longer available...
There might still be there at least a title I could revive from there, without having to re-upload it (I'm not a power-user, and even if I were one, my upload speed is really slow... sighs... lol).

Is there a line like this ones that could allow me to do so? like
http://www.boxtorrents.com/browse.php?search=&only=0&description=0&onlydead=1 (etc, etc, etc?)
that you could add for me, so I could copy and paste in the address browse?...

I've just read the 'news' 'Clean up finished'
'we have currently 225 torrents unseeded of which 115 actually have leechers,...'
Could you please copy and paste the search= etc, etc, so I can see those 225 (or so) torrents unseeded?... obviously my search is using a wrong tag that only lets me see the ones with leechers.

Thanks for your help and precious time...
Best Regards.

Like you suggest it is better to show all unseeded torrents, even those without leechers. The reason I hid those before is because the bonus system reduced the number of unseeded torrents by a factor 4 or 5, so now we can afford to show them all.

And yes, the cache for the top10 was 60 times too big, I forgot I multiplied by 60 already.

I see... Thanks a lot for your replies, explanations and attention. Sorry for imposing myself on this thread. I don't need to bet anything to understand it must be hard to keep the pace on the 'Box' with all those changes and everything. To make things short, thanks a lot, again, for all of your efforts.

- Best Regards -

Hi just wanted to let kureshii-san know that the problem has been solved.  I think it took a whole day but all 3 torrents are finally showing up on my profile.  I figured the "non-present" torrent was connected to the tracker b/c I was getting the bonus points for it (all 3 are bonus torrents) and I had no error messages so thank you again for your time...psyren as well :)
