hi ppl, first of all i wunna thank all thouse who really try to helpme and those ppl who have the time to read that topic of mine!
k, here is my problem i cant play the second audio stream of a mkv file (besides its the japanese dub), the first stream is the english dub, and my option is to disable the first audio stream.
i searched now more then three houres and read in some other forums how to do that but the tools they have mentioned was crap or only shareware also most of the ppl regarded the "tool virtuel dub", but vdub isn't workin on H264 convertion.
i useing for playback the tool named Mplayer (with that tool i dunt need any codec or have problems with the playback of mkv or any other formats), the only problem is, that this tool can't use the second audio stream on the file.
so i wunt to disable the english dub and make a dual audio mkv to an single audio mkv.
if anybody know how to do that with a tool that actually works fine pls post on this topic a tutorial or an manuel , if yu got some free time, that would be awsome and a great help for me.
with best regards -Me

You are using MPlayer on what platform? Mac OSX? Windows XP or Vista? Some Linux distro? You can choose which audio track for MPlayer to play by using parameters.
If you're using MPlayer OSX, refer to this thread.

If you are on Windows, I suggest you run a google search for CCCP and download that.
Or if you hate the English audio tracks enough to remove them for the file completely you can use MkvMerge, which is free.

If you are asking what I think you are asking: "How do I remove the english audio from my dual-audio ogm/mkv files?", then I have the answer for you. I do this ALL the time on the dual-audios that have english as the first track.
Here is what you will need:
1. A brain (not a joke, I have explained this to some people, and they didn't understand)
2. The software "MKVMerge GUI". Google it, it's free
Here is what you do:
1. This step is optional, but it helps. If your dual-audio file is an *.mkv, then rename it to an *.ogm, as to not need to change the location of the output.
2. Start MKVMerge Gui
3. Click the "add" button on the top right, and select your file from witch you wish to remove the english audio.
4. Under "Tracks", lots of lines (about 3-5) will appear. Look for the two (or more, if it has more then two languages) that have "type:audio" in them. One of them is the english audio, the other one is the japanese audio. If you click on either one, you should see witch one is witch under "Language" at "General track options"
5. Uncheck the english audio track, and click "Start Muxing" at the botton left of the progarm. Now you wait until if finishes (about 40 seconds per episode). The new *.mkv file created will only have the japanese audio. If it only has the english audio, then it means that the flags for the tracks were bad. Just do it from the top, but uncheck THE OTHER "type:audio" track.
Good luck. No more horrible english dubs for you, my comrade.

... or you could simply switch the default tag to the japanese track in MKVMerge GUI and mux it without removing either tracks... just as long as your player settings are such it picks the 'default' track that alone should help...
-
Some players ignore that flag. And if you're gonna remux anyway, why keep it? It takes up space you are never going to use anway.

Of course, if you actually seed back the file, you will be using almost twice as much space, one copy that matches the torrent, and one that has only one audio stream.

Doesn't really matter. Even just changing the flag will still alter the hash, and if you later remux it to switch the flag back it will get yet another hash, so in the end you'll still be needing the space for two files, if you plan on seeding it :-\... at least based on my own experiences with mkvmerge...

Why not just use Haali Media Splitter preferences to set Japanese as default? I can understand the appeal of removing the English audio tracks, but why do it for files that have English as default while not doing it for files that have Japanese as default?

Some players/systems do not use those flags properly, and will just play the first audio track they find. If it's japanese, then there's no problem, and no need for a remux. If it's english, then it has to go, either put it below the japanese, or just remove t and save space.

MKVMerge can remove audio tracks by muxing a new mkv. Here is a guide. (http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/doc/mkvmerge-gui.html#basics) (scroll down just a bit)
-
Mux the MKV through a program called MkvmuxGUI. There are other programs needed to run this that complement eachother called MKVtoolnix and i forget the rest.
-
I agree.... use MKVMerge GUI, remove the unwanted audio track.
But if you're willing to try, Haali Media Splitter will be less of a hassle.
