Someone told me that they are making a movie of my favorite anime movie, ninja scroll. Is this true and if so who is behind it. Anymore info would be fooly cooly! Thanks

jesus christ I hope not.
although shinobi hearts under blade was close.

I agree with Scud, Shinobi was pretty much an homage to ninjascroll. Girl whose kiss was as deadly as poison, other characters with specialized arts like that. Haven't seen it in a while but I distinctly remember thinking it was similar to Ninja Scroll.
It's wasn't a bad movie either, give it a watch.

i think a ninjascroll movie could be done if they didnt do literal interpretations of the powers the people have. Like the body of stone guy would be so fucking stupid in a movie. However make him a massive guy with ridiculous armor you can reenact how he dies nearly to a tee from ninja scroll

Shinobi Heart Under Blade has got to be one of the worst, most boring movies I have ever seen. And I have seen too many movies. The anime that it is loosely based on, Basilisk, is too good to even try to make a live action out of it, because live-actions suck 99% of the time
-
I am a pretty optimistic person, some say to a fault, but I have yet to see a live-action anime adaptation that does the original justice. As Ninja Scroll is one of my favorites, I doubt I will even watch it- if it is in fact being made into a live-action. (unless a lot of people who know anime see it and say it's good.)

a live action Ninja scroll would be as awesome as the live action Dragon Ball movie. No one could have made a better movie. That's probably the best movie I've ever seen because it was so spot on to the source material.
So relax. I think Hollywood can be trusted in handling anime 8)

I like anime, anime stays as anime, when its becomes live action, it loses its appeal...
But then again I remember watching Casshern Live Action, and never knew that it had an anime counter-part, but then again the story was very similiar to Final Fantasy 7(ish) but atleast on the plus side it had a nice soundtrack.

;D Oh yeah and I am so glad that they even considered Zac Efron for the part of Souske Sagara. It sure shows their wisdom when making casting choices. I mean think about it, just like the DBZ movie, "Full Metal Panic:The Musical" will slay them at the boxoffice.
Goes to Hollywood and torches it - stay away from Ninja Scroll you creeps.

is no one upset about cowboy bebop?

What are you talking about? There is no Cowboy Bebop live action that's most likely going to star Keanu Reeves as a terrible terrible Spike.
* has blocked out ever hearing anything about that from memory
-
A few people I have seen on forums have no objection, but most people seem to think That Mr. Reeves will not do the role justice.
But who could in our eyes? that is the burning question.

no way, keanu reeves would be perfect!
/sarcasm off

why do they keep doing it, They would probably make just as much money from doing it in CG (like Beowulf, only good) then we wouldn't need to see shitty actors doing shity jobs. It's just the writing/directing/plot/voice acting that would suffer at that point. And that's called a comprise ;)
although for the record, I try not to watch dubbed anime but I really enjoyed the cowboy bebop dubbing. So that would help if they used the same actors.
I would be down with a good CG ninja scroll.
