well as many of you may know i like street fighter, so i keep up with it. ill probably be at 2010 major tournaments and such.
im gonna update this page ocasionally, so check the first post regularly!

i just hope they dont release it too soon.... i dont know if im gonna be ready to try to master another SF so quickly. unless they hurry up and finish there "3 game updates" trend (i.e. SF:2 SF:2 championship, SF:2 Turbo. Alpha1, A2,A3. SF3 NG, SF3 DI, SF3 3rd strike.)

I picked up the PC version of SF4 when it was $20 on steam. Not my favorite SF game, but it has netplay and I can play it off my laptop on my living room TV as well. Was worth it to me at that price. Since the PC version came later I imagine SSF4 will be no different, and I won't be getting this anytime soon.

Unless you're referring to having to pick up both copies; SSF4 is going to be a separate title and they're supposedly pricing it below full price (as in $60USD). So I'd imagine $40.
Bugs though? Never had any issues with either the console or PC copy. I can see not liking it (my brother bought and returned a copy in a single day) but it still worked fine.

that final boss is a cheating basterd. When i was working towards unlocking gouken i kept lossing to him when using C. Viper (Her life is too low...) even on lowest difficulty. np beating him on highest difficulty with my strong chars. and yet he's way too vicious on lowest difficulty for some reason.

He gives up the first round practically on the 360/PC versions, from my experience. He's a shitty boss, no question. But usually he starts off ridiculously easy for me, then gets all serious and makes it drag out to a third round. One round arcade mode ever since I beat Seth the first time on default settings. =/

I occasionally do things accidentally that are way cooler than whatever I intended to do, but I agree, it's not THAT mash friendly. For every time I rolled out some ability that decides the match unintentionally, there's plenty where I just get my ass handed to me.

Wiki article says a 2010 spring release. Good news for me I am grabbing a ps3 sometime this month and the first game I am getting is Street Fighter IV.Gives me a few months to get ready for this release.

Best VS fighting game is Fate/Unlimited Codes. Easy to understand, awesome specials and attacks and the combos are combined through almost anything. There's even Air combos, too. Would love to see Capcom do the same for their other VS games. I sold my SFIV, I sold my other VS games when I got Fate/Unlimited Codes. There is no "support" for your attacks as well. Unlike the down, down-right, right and then you press a button (somewhat fucking stupid). Down, right, button. Simple move list. There's other easy ones too so having a support for something like this is a joke. Good thinking, Capcom.

I like fighting games... But there are two problems...
I don't like playing them online... and none of my friends like fighting games... (Also, I live in the middle of nowhere, so there's nowhere to go to play other people) So I end up just staying away from them cause fighting the AI just isn't fun.

okay....only problem is that theres no where in america where i can find a big enough fan base to get a good challenge or win tournaments. not to mention the familarity of teh basic SF fighting system. and fiinding a good human challenger is what really makes a fighting game shine. plus i like american comics too. i enjoy playing a good fighting game with super heros and game characters that i think are cool(Like Jill,Spider-man,Strider etc.). now i DO like Fate stay night, but i didnt get as much into as other things, so im not familiar with all of its characters. not to mention marvel and capcom are much older.
and i feel for the guy who couldnt find anyone who played fighting games. :'( teach your friends how to play.

TEKKEN - well tekken is silly. mash could go either way.
SOULICALIBER - like DOA and Tekken combined with weapons nd armor = mash either way

l found it interesting, went through the game without mashing buttons insanely.
personally l think SSF2T is the best SF game ever, it has the best characters cast and l find it more enjoyable tha most other SF games.
Adding full 3D to the series indeed made more drooling than actual update to the game series, and in order to keep fans into the title they started adding new and new characters, basically from the original 12 characters there is like 20+ of them now ? or more ? seriously thats sick even for me, the story is old and it seems like it keeps repeating itself over and over with new characters and their background being added, with every new game you get at least 1 new character but not to make it seem bad they subtract one original character of old character so it seems ballanced, then they add some super bad guys from breedery and you are "WTF"
also how many lives does Bison has ? l mean, hes been even killed by X-Man, and hes still alive, after SFA series l lost the interest completely in this series of constant failures, because altough l like some characters from this game, it's not enough to make me drill further.
Consequently Toshinden Battle Arena first game in my opinion was the best, the follow up games were, altough better looking, they didn't bring much into the story and backgroung much, so they alse had no choice but to add new characters as well, so l didn't like it.

Street Fighter 3: 3rd strike IS the best one. Though it has tier/balance issues it was the most fun. SF 4 is a lot more balanced making up for its lack of fun new things. Its too much like SF2turbo, they shouldve made it more 3rd strike-ish.
The alphas were pretty damn good too. in order from best to not best. SF:3 3s, SF:Alpha 3, Alpha 2, EX+@, SF2:HD remix, SF2T

Later SF games got more technical, and they probably wanted to remake the series in a more simpler matter. So being more Turbo than 3s or Alpha 3 aren't unexpected.

After playing IV for the past week I have found it to be rather decent and it will likely be on of my top 10 fighters.
I did somewhat enjoy SSF2T back in the day but I find the newer editions are a lot more fun and playable, still wish they would make hardest difficulty a little stronger like Guilty Gears though.

thats because the graphics are smoother and more sugar like candy sweet, especially girls boobs sway a lot better with appeals male part of fans a lot, even if you don't notice it ; could bet my salary you do look at them every now and then, it's a mens nature, but l liked SSF2T a lot more for it's simple design.

More over that doesn't negate the fact the updated game mechanics should be released for FREE!!! I shouldn't have to pay 40 dollars for a more balanced game, that's just plain wrong. Shit DOA managed to do it. Your telling me Capcom can't ? FAIL!!!

I'm psyched for SSF4, hopefully no one will be broken. :( I'm still pretty bad, but I must admit, watching my friends playing always makes me want to get better. They make links and combos look so easy. You also definitely cannot button mash to win if you are playing with people that know what they are doing.
And about the pricing, 40 dollars or less, I think it is worth it. To people who bought the game, you might be complaining because you're sort of buying the same game, but what about the people that didn't buy it? I would consider it a steal. Even still, the features they are adding are "super" indeed. It's also been news that you don't have to go through the game unlocking the characters and unlocking other things, it's going to be unlocked already.

I've played more street fighter than I ever did WoW, SSF4 can be 60$ if it wants to be
I'm starting to really like the series though, I guess it 'clicked' with me and ive been improving very quickly. Even though super turbo is currently on the top of my list, guilty gear stands next to it as one of the best fighting games competitively, third strike and marvel are fun, but are degenerate
i currently really DON'T like
- two button throws that are harder to land and weaker
- ridiculously huge reversal window allowing people to not even know when they should be doing a move yet still do it successfully, compounded with cancels that make these moves safe to do
- input shortcuts f'ing up my moves
but those are all problems with the core of the game that will never change, and it leads to very conservative matches, maybe some of the gameplay changes will try to work around that
I am excited for the third strike character announcement, dudley would definitely be one of my characters in super!

Some of the ultras looked kinda meh, especially Akuma's. The last few ultras looked pretty decent, standouts for me were Blanka, Dhalsim, Cammy, Ken,Fei Long, and Ryu.

yeah i've obviously only played ST when i've played A2, 3S, SF4 (dat gamercard nigga), A3, CE, HF, 2I, A1, all the VS games aside from CvS1, and PLENTY of other FGs out there (t3-t6 + tag, GG^C + #R, BB, KOF98, MB, random other shit)

added chars look interesting, i'll def snatch it when it comes out. For most that don't like the game, just don't buy it. There's nothing to get all hyped up about. Everybody already knows street fighter releases "upgrades" after the initial release of a game, so stop acting shocked about it, it's nothing new.
And you can button mash in practically any fight game if you suck and the people you play suck as well. My biggest fighting game disappointment was KoF XII so nothing can be worse than that
