This is probably the wrong area so sorry in advance... couldn't find a better one though.
...and yes, I have read the corresponding FAQ-section (http://wiki.bakabt.me/index.php/FAQ#Using_BakaBT_from_multiple_machines) about seeding from different IP's.
I was wondering how the tracker keeps track of me. I have a VPN which I sometimes use for torrents of more questionable nature on less secure public trackers. This obviously changes my IP to somebody in a completely different city (which is the entire idea) but the FAQ said that I couldn't seed the same torrent from two differrent IP's. Does it mean two IP's at the same time or two IP's full stop?
I'm afraid to use my VPN in case all just go bust :(

hi there although this post is almost 1 year old.. but we have the same title topic.. and i just ask it here since its the same and all..
lets say i loged in to a different computer/ip which is owned by another bakabt user
.. i seed my downloaded torrents on that computer/ip,
should i get a warning? or something by doing that?..
i also stopped all the seeding, and downloading torrents of the owners computer/ip and then i seeded mine, at the same time my own computer also seeds a different torrent because i read the rules seeding same torrent with different ip is bad..
im so sorry for the intrusion.. thanks in advance :)

It's actually almost two years old. That's quite the necro.
1. I'm pretty sure it's okay if you log in from the same IP, just not at the same physical computer, as another BBT user. I've been through this question before but I can't quite remember exactly if that was the correct answer. Let's say I'm 80% sure.
2. You will be fine seeding from multiple locations. The only case where you will have issues is if you are seeding the exact same torrent at two different locations. For example, if you downloaded torrent A at home and have it seeding at home, you better not start up torrent A at another location, but it's fine if you start up torrent B. 100% sure about this.
3. There is no problem at all seeding files for multiple BBT users from the same location, even if they are the same torrent (as long as they belong to separate users), aside from not being able to get the full speeds that you would normally be able to. This I'm about 95% sure about.

1. i can log in my account to another computer and ip of an another bakabt. but i dont wont anything else after that..
2. hmm thanks for this answer actually this is what what i was looking for, seeding from another computer and ip of another bakabt user..
.. this can still increase my ratio right?..
so if i do this situation....
user A download torrent A on his computer/ip.. after downloading user B(thats me) seeded that torrent A on user A's computer/ip..
this is acceptable right.. as long as i dont seed the same torrent A on my computer..

again thANKS for this answer :).. im just assuming that downloading is a not acceptable if i download some torrent on another bakabt user's computer/ip..

As long as user B downloads the torrent himself, it should be fine. The main problem would be if you open it in the same client on the same computer, which would cause the client to merge tracker lists and end up reporting stats for two accounts, which is bad. If you remove the torrent for user A before you add the torrent for user B, I'm about 95% sure that's fine.
You might want to wait until a staff member replies to this, just to be safe. I don't want to be held responsible for anything that happens. =P
