Title: Gundam Fans...need some advice.

I just finished watching Mobile Suit Gundam 00 season 1 & 2 - loved it!
I downloaded Gundam G...watched 3 episodes and deleted it from my harddrive.  I just downloaded Mobile Suit Gundam Wing...eh...it looks ok.  Its not grabbing me like 00 did. 

Is there another Gundam series similar to 00?

I thought Gundam Seed and Gundam seed Destiny were good, I liked GWing as well, and imho a short good Gundam series is Gundam: The 08th MS Team.

I thought Gundam 00 was pants though and gave up after getting about 3/4 of the way through it. Probably Gundam Wing is the nearest too it that I have seen.

G Gundam is relatively quite different from the rest of the Gundam Universe. Most of the other Gundam series are retellings of each other and borrow heavily from the same ideas.

Wing gets better as you get into it. If you don't like it by episode 10, then you probably won't like it. I second the recommendation for SEED, and I'd also say you should take a look at 08th MS Team. If you like SEED, then you'll probably like the rest of Gundam. But if you find both SEED and Wing to be meh, then Gundam as a whole is probably going to bore you since the big fans of the original UC shows saw them before the newer Gundam series.

Gundam Unicorn will be visually closest to 00 in terms of animation and special effects, but you aren't going to understand much of the plot behind that unless you watch at least SEED and the the 3 compilation movies for the original 0079.

Kidou Senshi Gundam MS IGLOO 2 Juuryoku Sensen

Is the only other good Gundam series I've seen thus far, but only seen like 8 others.

IMO Gundam 00 is one of the best gundam series out there.

Gundam Wing is great too, I'd recommend it, then again the "Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz" movie/ova (sequel/ending of Gundam Wing) wasn't that awesome, so just watch the series, it has a proper ending apart from the Endless Waltz movie.

I began watching Gundam Seed a little while ago but I didn't like the characters that much (then again I was only at ep 5)  so I got it on-hold at the moment.
Then again you might like it

Unicorn looks like its going to be great.  I'll keep watching WING and give Seed a chance as well.  I'm also going to try out Gundam MS Igloo.  Are Wing and Seed related at all?  I tried to follow the relation graph on AniDB and I thought I was looking at a schematic for a circuit board.

Gundam Wing isn't that great. The main reason that it is liked in the west is because it was the first Gundam series that most of us saw. Mind you, the cheese factor and insanity of the cast might entertain you in the way a B movie would. If dated animation doesn't bother you, then you can go watch the original UC Gundam series: Mobile Suit Gundam, Zeta Gundam, Gundam ZZ, Char's Counterattack, and its spin offs. Ive heard a number of good things about Turn A Gundam, however, I haven't gotten around to watching it yet.

Gundam Wing is actually probably the most similar to Gundam 00 in terms of storyline. The idea of an independent paramilitary organization armed with Gundams.

are seed and unicorn in the same universe. Someone mentioned needing to watch seed to get unicorn but I always thought unicorn was part of the main universe of course I haven't seen it so I may be mistaken.

yup, and in my opinion it is much better than 00
00 is much more about eye candy whereas wing really has to win you over with better storyline/more (and better) characters/more factions etc

You wrote Gundam SEED in first post, and Gundam SEED Destiny in second post. So I just asked. Don't watch GSD before the prequel GS, or you might actually end up liking Shinn -_-;

Shoot....downloadin g Gundam Seed now.  I didn't get to far in GSD.  I did like what I saw though.

Lol, Destiny has an excellent beginning but most people tend to feel it dies after the first 15 or so episodes. I personally loved both SEED and Destiny, but they really should be watched in order.

I could not stand Gundam Seed. I finished the whole thing, but by the end of the series I felt they used WAY too much stock animation. Kira was an ok protagonist, but the animation was really a drawback to me. I found the color scheme in the series very childish, and the animation got very sloppy at points.

Gundam 00, on the other hand, was amazing. Great characters, interesting plot and superb animation. I particularly liked t
