Hey, I'm still kinda new here, but is my situation a problem? I'm not entirely sure what to do, and if possible I want to fix it.
What I did:
Before I made an account, I downloaded some torrents from BakaBT, which have completed. So after making the account, I tried to put them onto my active torrent list and make it count for my account.
I looked at the BakaBT wiki FAQ first and there was a topic on "For First Timers" for this specific problem, which said.
"Another way is to replace the BakaBT public tracker URL in the torrent with the URL containing your private key through your BitTorrent client."
I'm actually not sure what this is saying, so I tried to connect the dots with my previous experience with BitTorrents (Currently using Vuze).
As a result, I just replaced all the tracker URLs with the same ones that were downloaded after I created my account.
They got put on my active torrent list correctly, but the downloaded amount had reset back to 0 for these newly added torrents.
Situation:
So right now I have 4 torrents, which were previously downloaded before my account creation, with 0-KB downloaded and still seeding, adding onto the share ratio.
Do torrents downloaded before my account creation actually have to add to the downloaded amount, or is that not good?
I looked around, but I don't understand much about BitTorrents...or anything related to this matter.
Do I have to do anything and just let it seed, or what?

Let it seed. You actually did what others fail to do when they are warned and have no torrents to seed to improve their ratio.

I appreciated your feedback, the "private key" part might have been a bit confusing :)

I don't think you should be endorsing public leeching/private seeding on the Wiki, but meh.

You are right it shouldn't be, as I too would consider as cheating if an existing member is the one doing it. That is why the wording is rather important. Let's just say, it is really possible for the BakaBT tracker to identify a member if he/she is abusing this, but I don't know whether it would be enforced or not.

"We are a public tracker. If you are not a regular and unable/unwilling to seed back, don't create an account. Create an account when you are ready."
or something like that :D

There's no reason for us to condemn anyone for that. We are a public tracker. If we ban someone for doing that, they can just as easily keep leeching publically. The only thing that prevents some people from doing this is their conscience.

It wasn't exactly condemning the act; actually it was pretty far from that. Sure, it's allowed, and it's beneficial to the swarm in the short run (gives seeders someone to seed to). In the long run, though, it increases the global BBT ratio.
blubart's recommendation was to either do everything publicly or privately. If you download off the public tracker, seed it to the public tracker.
