Title: Wanted: A good WoW to join
Post by: Micharus on February 12, 2011, 04:22:41 AM
Wanted: WoW Guild.

Must haves: Be based on Caelastraz
            Friendly members
            Don't mind 'lone wolf' players
            Take *ANY* level/class of player
            Don't mind 'casual' players

Must not have: Greedy guild leaders that are just using the guild system to build up their own bank/equipment.

The main reason for this post is because I *want* to be in a guild. The perks are worth the hassle.
The guild I am currently in has a problem.
The leader of the guild seems to be drawing a *LOT* of money from the guild bank all of the time, according to the logs.
There is NEVER any money for repairs.

I have had an idea this has been happening, but I have only just started to check the logs. I'm just slightly annoyed.

Too bad that someday you will need to your soul back from the Devil.  ;D

On a serious note though, wouldn't it be more effective to make this topic on a WOW forum?

realistically your better off pugging things until your max level at the very least and have earned enough gear to start trying to join a not waste of life guild.

9/10 guilds that arent aiming for raiding and actually try and get people to use the bank are a waste of time and they will eventually steal your shit.

the 1/10 of those is usually the SUPER MASSIVE guilds that have like 80 people on all the time that have been around forever. They are honest enough not to steal shit from people and stable enough that they dont die.
But they suck ass cuz well they are too big.
Raiding doesnt happen or is sloppy, or there is like 3 raid groups and they all kinda suck.

Just find a few cool people to get on your friend list that will run shit like a mother fucker and pug shit like crazy with you and you will do fine until you get into a decent guild

and then use wow forums and wow progression tracking sites like http://www.wowprogress.com/
to find a guild that is where you want to be at as far as progression goes and work on getting into them from there.

Just pug to max level. Only reason to join a serious guild in wow is to raid. The game nowadays hook you up with people easily enough.

And you don't sound like the raiding type. Look out for people as you level. If you find friendly folks you clique with ask to join their guilds. Chances are you'd be a good fit.

Go for small casual guilds. Less drama when they are a bunch of real life friends. Raiding guilds are like mnc's, filled with politics, ego, backstabbing, sleeping/cyb0ring with the boss and all kinds of nonsense. Exactly the kind of things you're playing a game to escape from.  ;D

My 2 cents. =P

Nah, you see I don't post on WoW forums at all hardly, but I *do* post here a lot.

I also know there are WoW players here and I kinda sorta 'know' some of the regulars here, being somewhat of a 'regular' myself.

I'm hoping that someone from here will know of decent guild that is looking for members and let me know about it, the idea being that there will be a better chance of the guild in question being decent.

The guild I'm currently in is level 9 and the perks provided at that level are pretty nice. 10% more xp, 15% faster mounts, 10% less damage to armor on death and so on.

At this point the perks are really the only reason I'm still in this guild.
It seems that most of the people in the guild that I like, have gotten wise to the guild leaders antics and moved on.

PvP servers are usually the best to hit. Most experienced/skilled players are always there. Well, as long as you understand how you play your class, visit Elitist Jerks and not a clicker (with the exception of being a healer).

What is "clicking"? using mouse instead of keyboard or something?

clicking = clicking your skills and stuff instead of using keybinds

Isn't WoW one of those games where you have a global cooldown? So clicking isn't a problem?

edit

The global cooldown is generally 1.5 seconds for all classes except...

How can you not do 2-3 mouse clicks in that time period?

some things do some things dont, and that being excluded there are some skills that are next swing based where they just attack when the next swing happens and arent effected by global cd until they are used.

Often people making sure those are queued and combination of using skills that arent on gcd, skills that are results in many players who "click" their skills sucking balls.

In addition sticky targeting only works so well and retards have a tendency to misclick when fighting a dozen mobs in a crowd and something is being focus fired down.
