Title: [Recommendations] Bands/Artists like Kalafina
Post by: Kyrdua on April 24, 2011, 06:16:24 PM

@mods: Posted in Anime Recommendations on because this is from an anime soundtrack.
feel free to move if this is the wrong place.

specifically those that mainly do stuff like Magia (http://video.online.hk/watch/24260).
the style is just too beautiful i can't get enough of it. also, what genre is this? the recs don't have to be japanese, by the way.

I really wouldn't know any similar bands, but the genre is Symphonic Rock / Metal. You might want to start looking there.

^^ kaijura eh? okay.

coming from someone who's library was once dominated by the likes of Epica, Within Temptation, Nightwish, Delain, et al.
iI don't think they're symphonic. i'd say they're new age-esque, or something along the lines of non-techno juno reactor.

Seconded for Kajiura. She's the composer formed Kalafina.

And apparently did the soundtrack for Madoka, which makes me want to see it even more.
