Title: Flash based games and deleting cookies
Post by: undetz on April 26, 2012, 01:10:30 PM
I'm using Firefox with the Better Privacy plugin. While it is possible to set it so it doesn't delete some cookies and .sol files, it's not perfect. Yesterday I lost some saves for some games I've got on my computer, which kind of sucks when you were at level 70 in Gemcraft: Labyrinth.

The ideal solution would be an application that can handle .swf files and saves the LSOs in a non-standard directory so they don't get accidentally deleted. Does anyone here know of a program like that or have any other solution handy?

I've used that extension on several occasions, and it hasn't crapped out on me yet.

Just tried out the flash game in question, and it looks like you want to prevent giabGclSaveData.sol from being wiped out. If you have cleaner that can clear flash files, that might possibly be it.

I have CCleaner, but I hadn't run that for a while before it happened, nor afterwards.
