Well I got the F8 release and did a few comparisons.
Relevent offer is here (http://bakabt.me/166265-c3-cube-x-cursed-x-curious-coalgirls-bd-flac-720p.html)
set number 1 (http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/141429)
set number 2 (http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/141430)
Subs and karaoke (http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/141433)
The last set was taken in vlc to show the fonts and karaoke effects. The first two sets were done in aegisubs.
To my untrained eye the video looks the same. Both used UTW's subs, the subs and beginning karaoke looks to be the same, but Final8 changed fonts and spacing for the ending karaoke.
CG's is 8-bit video with flac sound , Final8's is 10-bit with aac sound. I personally prefer flac as I am the kind of person that dreams of having a great media room set up with a 7.2 DTS super duper hi-fi with sugar on top sound system and humongous screen 4k OLED TV. ;D

Anyone willing to offer 1080p?
Or i'll take it up.

I agree, they're really close (the coalgirls copy seems a bit darker.) I think the karaoke looks nicer in the coalgirls release, but not a major deal.
Personally gonna go with Final8 just to save the file space. I don't have the system to really appreciate FLAC over a decent lossy encode, but the real kicker is Tenshi's release is nearly twice as large. Doesn't really look like you're getting any appreciably increase in video quality for being over 4gb larger.

I'd say F8, from set one #2.
Still needs to be compared against the one on the tracker atm.

Is the pixelation in CGi's set 1 #2 actually a problem with the encode? It looks like what you get when point resize is used for the chroma scaling during conversion to RGB.

I bet it's aegisub's fault, have seen it before.

why do you guys use aegisub for screenshot comparison ?
I found it a lot easier and better with avspmod and ffvideosource

It is. People should NOT use Aegisub to take comparison pics. In all honesty, the method revo describes is best in terms of accuracy.
