Title: Any info about the cat (or similar) of Ghost Hound opening?

Hello!

In the opening of Ghost Hound a weird (chimera-like) cat appears (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6-kETedHFI ~36seconds).


Is that cat a type of youkai/ bake mono/ japanese folclore? Any info is much appreciated! The anime doesn't mention it...

Also, any anime (or manga) suggestions about anime with/about astral traveling and the like?

Thank you for your recommendations too. From the general ones I watched Mushishi (so glad there's a season 2 to wrap things up! Seeing that one now!), Ghost Hunt, Natsume Yuujinchou and the Twelve Kingdoms. Love them all to bits.

So I'm looking forward to all the ones you recommended and I've yet to see!
