Title: msi vs gigabyte..

Guys i'm building a new all purpose computer set for my friend's birthday gift.. 
My local store offers two GPU's and i have known this brands qualities and cant decide which one...on your opinion which is better?

either is good, i'm more fond of gigabyte as all of my gigabyte motherboards had outlived my asrock/asus/ecs motherboards.
MSI tends to be more expensive.

just check the review sites whether theres some things to take note of.
e.g. EVGA's ACX are having a really bad time, and gigabyte currently has the top factory OC card.

Pretty much the only difference that matters will be cooling solution and physical size of the board

I would go with MSI. They seem to have the edge over other cards with the current 900 series. Not to mention they look better than gigabyte. In my experience I have seen msi last longer. YMMY.

(On another note, are you just helping him build a 'general-purpose computer' or are you paying for all the components to gift him as well? )
