houkouonchi very nice setup. How much it set you back?

I will eventually post pictures of my set up when I manage to repair my other 2 measly 'servers' and clean my desk up (its glass so it gets real dirty real fast but looks good when clean lol).
What's that noise coming out your face?

Lots of things were bought at different times. If you count what I paid for everything new over the years I would guess in the 15k-20k (USD) range.

Not bad, is it a proper server set up? As in running legit server OS. And how have you sorted the Local-UI? Or you running it purely via a WebUI/LAN-UI?

Sorry, I am looking at scrapping my 3 old gaming computers as servers and running a dedicated server instead (less power usage mainly and better response times I am hoping). It also means I can get rid of my seedbox and save myself around $60/month.

Minus the one box which has open solaris on it all my machines run linux. I like the performance of DAS so the lowerst 4U box (dekabutsu) also doubles as my desktop system. The two 3U boxes below it (ds-1 and ds-2) are just DAS (no motherboard/cpu/etc.. in them).

your setup makes me wish I got a card that had external sas ports. In my newest setup im running an areca ARC-1261ML.  How do you trigger the power for the DAS box's Did you hard wire a power switch to ground the pin on the psu connector or is there a more clean way. Might be cheaper for me to sale my current 1261 and buy a one with two external sas ports to expand with.

Pretty bland >.> it's all wired to my laptop as a desktop is a bit unpractical in my situation with me being at my dad's from friday to tuesday and at my mom's the rest of the week

*edit* And yes, the lighting sucks

For the laptop it's:
Intel® Core™ i5 450M 2.53 GHz
NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 425M with 1GB DDR3 VRAM
4GB RAm

The screen ehm, I'd have to get back to you on that, at my dad's atm so can't check, I can atleast tell you it's only a 19"

It's brand new.
I even saw a few of them getting unboxed. I guess they want to keep the new comp smell or something.

Ahem, nice desk. But I noticed the background. Seems like you have some decoration on the walls. Or is that some kinda of cabinet. Seems nice in any case. If you don't mind would like to see more. (seriously, what am I asking  :-[)

I have those speakers! They are great speakers. Or, more accurately, they are great speakers for the $30 I spent to buy them—I'm no expert on audio equipment.

Great case isn't it?

What fans are those and are they quiet?

Oh god, that cable management is horrible, I found the management in this case good if you put some effort into using the back part.
