Most likely it will hold a static charge pretty well but you can get a spray that adds a conductive layer which dissipates the static.

Don't confuse my comments for praise. I think it's ugly, I was just being nice kinda like telling a proud mother her baby is smart when it's still too young to be anything of the sort.

The originality and creativity more than makes up for the ugliness. I kind of doubt it ever was meant to be (or needed to be) safe or practical anyway.
