What about this :

I am sorry, I would have to listen to that on daily basis and many more songs in order to give a correct answer to that. My guess is that they have their own styles, slightly influenced by dialects. However it is not noticeable... at least not like Einherjer, when Frode Glesnes sings, you can't ignore that Vestland (western part of Norway) accent based on Nynorsk. Still all of that doesn't matter if they sing in English

Yes.... good that someone mentioned Finntroll before I did. (wouldn't be any fun if i listed every metal band, now would it?) I generally like their style.

Hmm.... soulfly's instrument usage in that song just didn't appeal for me much.... and it's kind of too punkish for my taste.

Every once in a while France brings up some good bands though it's far from being a hotbed for good metal.

Edit : Finntroll is an entertaining listen, just wondering ... did they have too much barkbröd at breakfast ?

Ah, a good thread

My tastes are partially similar to Ace - power metal/finnish folk metal and the like, the best examples being Turisas, Ensiferum and Finntroll, but also Rhapsody, Manowar or Blind Guardian.

I also like Gothic and opera metal - Within Temptation, Nightwish, Therion (especially Secret of the Runes album and later), Epica, Sirenia, Tristania, Leaves' Eyes and many more.
