Metal! Uhm, let's see for a bit of fun what I have.
Mechina
Anti-Theist: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnGQC2Up0XQ
Non-Serviam: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IE45QoxBfw

Holy hell, I've got to bump this.  The more I listen to "Conqueror" the more impressed I am.  Mechina on this album is basically what I wish Fear Factory was.  It's kind of like the spiritual successor to "Obsolete".  Honestly, I don't know why I haven't been listening to this album a lot more before now.  Rapid-fire, staccato rhythms & drums give the music a hypnotic quality, complemented by ethereal keyboards and, in places, soaring vocals with the just the right effects.  The combination is something that's mechanical yet dreamlike, very cyberpunk.

Love those 2 tracks, but gotta say that The Iron Law is my favorite track.  I think I'm going to have to buy this album...

Well, I listen to Blind Guardian mostly. If anyone has a band that has a similar sound ( they seem Folk and Smphonic metal in one IMO ) please tell me XD
Out of the genre tho, I like the classical stuff ( Metalica, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and other old bands )

If you're a fan of Blind Guardian, then I assume you're familiar with Demons & Wizards and Iced Earth.  If not, D&W is basically a side project, a crossover of BG and IE, with Hansi Kursch on vocals of course and Jon Schaeffer on guitar.  Iced Earth's stuff from the 90s is mostly really good, Iron Maiden-influenced power metal, although I don't like much that Schaeffer has done in the last decade and haven't kept up with them.  Ripper Owens was in Iced Earth for a few years, and recorded at least 1 album with them.

Pyramaze also did an album called "Immortal" with Iced Earth's former singer, Matt Barlow, which is a good listen.  I haven't heard their other albums.

And, not sure what your experience is with melodic death metal bands, and harsher vocal styles but there's a lot out there worth checking out.  A lot of those bands are heavily influenced by 80's power metal, but there's not much folk influence there.

Sounds like you're more a fan of their later stuff than the early; early Blind Guardian was more speed-like. It might be worth looking into:

Elvenking, Minstrelix's "Reflections", Balflare, Thy Majestie, Labyrinth, Eternal Legacy, Luca Turilli

If we expand into their earlier stuff:

Grave Digger, Helloween, Manticora, Hibria

And if we drop the Power Metal part and just go straight for Symphonic Folk, we get a whole new range of artists, though this is beginning to get a bit far from BG (they aren't really folk at all):

Crimfall (Symphonic/Folk/Melodeath), Finsterforst (Folk/Black), Hollenthon (Symphonic/Folk/Melodeath), Nokturnal Mortum (Symphonic Folk/Black), Cruachan (Folk/Black)

If you're gonna mention Luca Turilli, then I'd say it's a must to mention Rhapsody of Fire as well, as that is the band he is best known for (though he recently left it).

Iced Earth's latest albums aren't too bad IMO. I think the first one with Owens (The Glorious Burden was actually a very good album. It's a shame Schaffer kicked him out after the album after that and replaced him with Barlow (who lasted only one more album before quitting again to focus on his family). Now they have Stu Block (from Into Eternity) on vocals, who I think is holding up quite well to his predecessors so far. Hopefully, Schaffer gives him the time to fit in even more.

His solo stuff was a better fit imo. There's tonnes of "big" bands I could have listed but left off, simply because I don't think they fit as well. I mean c'mon, no mention of Gamma Ray yet? No Manticora? Hibria? Labyrinth? Stratovarius? Pffft.

I kind of had Stratovarius in the back of my mind, but then I started thinking about Iced Earth and went off in that direction.  Odd, but personally I keep going back to "Infinite" over and over when I want to listen to Stratovarius; I haven't developed a taste for many of their other albums.

I guess I'll have to give Iced Earth's newer stuff another chance.  I remember one of the albums post-Ripper having a horrible mix, though.  I've come to the conclusion that bands whose music is too much the product of one person for too long tend to stagnate, Schaeffer and IE being the example I'm obviously referencing now.

My usual sources failed me, and I only just got my hands on the new Project Hate. If you already know them, then expect better guitar work and a new female vocalist with a lot more power to her lines. The whole album flows better with less of a jump between the vocalists, only twisting for the electronica interludes.

If you don't know them, they play a sort of Industrial Death Metal that collides the Prodigy with Grave (Swedeath), throws in some beauty and the beast vocals and comes out with some compositions that can only be described as "epic." They're probably my favourite DM band these days, and I own a fair whack of their back catalogue.

Make eargasm music, get drunk, make more eargasm music, attempt suicide, make mediocre music, get sober, make more eargasm music, become Born Again Christian, deny the opportunity to play eargasm music.
Dave Mustaine style.

Mathcore. Fan of the stuff myself, but there's so much misinformation and ill-formed opinions surround the sub-genre. This is a blog post I made not too long ago about it's origins and where the style derives, as well as a brief overview of the UK and US/Canadian scenes. Might be worth a look if you're looking for more along similar lines.

Good call. I like Melodic Death Metal, too. I haven't really found any good bands besides Children of Bodom, Inearthed, In Flames (Although, I wouldn't consider them Death Metal), and Dark Tranquility. I still find that Children of Bodom is the best band in the genre, but just because of Alexi Laiho's awesome melodies

I'm not a huge fan, burnt myself out on it a while back. Still, might be worth looking into both early At the Gates (very much more DM) and later (where they pretty much started the Gothenburg style used by In Flames and Dark Tranquility), Blood Stain Child (basically latter In Flames + Trance), Decadence (thrashy!), Garden of Shadows (proggy!), Sculptured (doomy!), Eucharist (deathy!), Hollenthon (orchestral!), Disillusion (very proggy!!!), Skyfire (symphonic-y), Eluvieitie (Folky!), Kalmah (errrr...Bodom-y?!), Wintersun (folky! blacky!) and his work with Ensiferum (folky again!) and Amon Amarth (Vikingy!).

If you're a fan of Bodom's neo-classical playing, there's some prog you'd probably like as well. Adagio's last offering and Redemption's spring to mind. Both Forté and Bernie Versailles outstrip Laiho's playing by some considerable margin imo (though for the Redemption you'll have to wait for the solo for him to demonstrate this fact, skip to 3:10 for the 1min+ of soloing).
