Well, sucks very much though... All we can do is wait someone will go underground or DVD releases are done. I have all 6 episodes they manage to do and damn it looked good! But we're kinda helpless. Nothing we can do but curse them and wait for DVD's to roll out...

it just sucks because of some uptight dickhead marketing boss got something stuck up too high where sun doesn't shine they call some american prudction stuff with more laywers than average court house. Sucks... Nobody doesn't have ties to Yakuza who might be willing to... negotiate this thing???

Nobody makes breakthru's by following teaching's of schools and obeying laws and rules. They make breakthru's because they dare challenge the limits and test things. Dare test, dare fail, dare challenge... Stagnation kills creativity.

I read the notice, and it does say that Eclipse would also be dropping it. Since Eclipse doesn't have any means for Funi or any other band of dick wads to contact them its generally been assumed they would never drop an anime due to C&D. I remember being extremely worried about that with one of their other releases, but was reasured that will never happen. Just because they partnered up with someone doesn't mean they have to drop it. Can't they go solo. Whether you call them speedy high quality subs or high quality speed subs, they kick ass just fine on their own.

Opinion?

While we sit here amongst fans of P2P, the number of fans of digital rights management is actually greater.  Don't forget that the general public is in favour of digital rights management due to the "business first" climate and attitudes of many USA citizens, businesses, lawmakers, law enforcement, the government, and those who actually cast ballots.

In defense of digital rights management, you can read the ANN forums or the AnimeOnDVD forums.  Those places are chock-full of industry fans.  Yeah, yeah, it's very probable many of those same people are using P2P even while saying DRM is for the long-term benefit of everyone.  Hypocrisy doesn't have much negative social value anymore, so people don't care about being hypocrites.

I'm not worried not being able to view the rest of Slayers Revolution as fansub, it'll be subbed and uploaded on trackers regardless of what Funi's opinion is...

I'm more worried the rest will be subbed by groups with same set of standards as Ainex or similar :-\...

@AnimeJanai: Are those people completely blind? Can't they see the enormous difference in quality? Give me something worth buying and I may buy it, but when you charge for an inferior product, you only have your self to blame.

@Blanchimont: Yes, but its unlikely that they with Eclipse's standards.

Hm, looks like they're taking down fansubs of all the shows which might be popular in States. This is kinda interesting, as fansubs don't have direct negative influence on DVD sales. Those who can afford buying DVD's and liked the show they had watched fansubbed are going to buy it anyway, and those who can't wouldn't buy it no matter what. They will simply download dvd-rips, and this is something you can't stop unless you go into unreasonable expenses.
What fansubs could influence are TV airings as most anime fans don't like dubs. So, are hot about airing it on TV?

As for eclipse, joint project is a joint project. First, they might not have enough people to keep it up on their own. Second, this would make SS look wussies, and it's not what best-friends-forever do to each other :)

Just watched what's released so far, since the good fansubs may be harder to get later, if not dropped already.  It's a shame, since it's better than expected and brought back all the feelings on why I liked that series long ago.

Many of those people honestly do believe official releases are better. At least before HDTV fansubs became common, DVD video quality was better than fansubs, and many people prefer the no-nonsense readable subtitles on DVDs over fancy rainbow-colored fansub subtitles. (I've seen some fansubs that left me wishing for DVD subs, anyway.) Some people don't care about or even don't like fansub features like karaoke and positioned text, and don't like honorifics or random Japanese words in subtitles. And in the opinions of many, official translations are better than fansub translations, an opinion which I believe to be true on average. But I'm not trying to start the 389th fansub vs. DVD sub flamewar, just trying to explain the mindset of the ANN/AoD userbases.

Anyway, it seems ep 7 has come out from an anon group calling itself "VivaLaRevolution." Surprise value = 0.

Got any old fansubs on HDD/DVD/CD? Please take a look at this thread.

Not to mention just before someone posted the megatorrent for the previous Slayer franchise as well... However that still won't stop me from posting the batch of SS-Eclipse's releases once I'm done with the uploads on Box 8)...
Unlike VivaLaRevolution at least I will be giving them something to target at... not that I give a damn... (any C&D will be the laughingstock of the day and posted in the comments...)

is it just me or do the new episodes of slayers  (revolution and evolution)...just completely...suck.. ..in comparision with the past slayers series...

animation wise---i liked the old style...heck the quality of the old one was better...i can still remem valgaav in a few shots in the end of try
story wise---- the story line seems ridiculous and...non slayer-ish

it wud seem odd they did not make this the hit they could have since they got the original voice actors...and the staff...

heck ive heard theyve gone so askewed from the novel story line it cannot actually follow the novel anymore

ugh gonna have to wait for the novels now

I sort of liked Revolution more than Next, I found the animation was not that big a jump from the previous three series.  Although Evolution-R could have been better

Speaking of Evolution-R:
Which funsub would you guys recommend? I just recently learned of the existance of a sequel to Revolutions (which sucked compared to the original three seasons) but couldn't find any seeded torrents at all...

PM prefered, thanks ;-)

everything related to Lina Inverse is perfect and never enough, the animation quality is good, it can't be better cuz it has to have the same feel as it had in the past, if you ask me, l wouldn't mind another 50 seasons ^^

I swear what is a dub lover to do  :'(
on one hand I hate funimation for their egotistical hypocritical ways and do not want them to license Slayers evolution and revolution
on the other hand I love this show so much and as I have only watched it dubbed and it holds a place in my heart from when I was a kid watching it dubbed I want them to license it and dub it with the original cast. Why must my life be so hard  :'(

I could be game for more seasons provided they delve more into the world they inhabit as well as maybe evolving the characters relationships with each other, and throw in some new characters to keep things fresh.

well improving development between Gourry and Lina would be fun, they get a long but whern it comes down to feelings they both fail miserebly :D
adding more characters is pointless, there is enough of them to blow the world into pieces:
Lina
Amelia
Sylviel
Gourry
Naga the Serpent
Philia
Zelgadis
Xellos
that slutty comedy of a princess with her imaginative Xoamelgustav Monster the destroyed her own Kingdom with a super Golem (well technically it was Lina's spell but the Golem was hers and went out of controll XD )
parody of an animeal

did l miss enyone ?

thats enough of ppl throwing everything into hell (literally)

moer seasons please, there is not enough death of bandints and destruction of the world !

Wiki says the slutty princess girl is Martina Zoana Mel Navratilova, and a missing character could be Pokota the ball of fur introduced in Revolution. I would not mind seeing new characters especially if they were the offspring of some of the main characters, cause once some of the voice actors (Mainly Megumi Hayashibara) start dropping out of the new projects I might lose interest if the new voice actors can't live up to the roll. Though no news of that quite yet, guess I will have to wait for some more info on this upcoming series to be released.
