well improving development between Gourry and Lina would be fun, they get a long but whern it comes down to feelings they both fail miserebly :D
adding more characters is pointless, there is enough of them to blow the world into pieces:

that slutty comedy of a princess with her imaginative Xoamelgustav Monster the destroyed her own Kingdom with a super Golem (well technically it was Lina's spell but the Golem was hers and went out of controll XD )

Wiki says the slutty princess girl is Martina Zoana Mel Navratilova, and a missing character could be Pokota the ball of fur introduced in Revolution. I would not mind seeing new characters especially if they were the offspring of some of the main characters, cause once some of the voice actors (Mainly Megumi Hayashibara) start dropping out of the new projects I might lose interest if the new voice actors can't live up to the roll. Though no news of that quite yet, guess I will have to wait for some more info on this upcoming series to be released.
