Wait what? You want Shika/Ino dead?? Seriously dude.. That means the end of shinobi world.

Well Shikamaru is also smart, but he's not Shikaku he can't form such perfect strategies.. This is like.... THE END?!!? Armageddon and shit in Naruto world >.>

And yes, Tekeshi makes sense. Shounen logic doesn't fit in. Mangaka would show us how they died or something.
Actually I think they might have used the teleportation jutsu that Tsunade and A used.
You know Kishimoto, everything is possible in Manga world's biggest troll's work >.>

newy:
They are pretty much dead. It's unrealistic to have such few named casualties on the "good" side.
I have to disagree with you, Takeshi. Even if you apply shounen logic (what would that be in this case?) they can't escape that blast radius fast enough without any teleportation. If Kishi even made Kakashi say how extraordinary the blast radius is.

Actually i liked the manga before the ninja war.
The ninja war arc sucks.
It keeps introducing random characters with little background or flashback,
and on the ninja union side they keep winning and winning and there's really no psychological or philosophical thought behind.
The end result is that it is pure action and visual art in the entire arc.
How amusing is it? I know it's subjective but i can say something concrete, like
Every enemy has unrealistic but regular properties.
Their ability merely changes from hand-to-hand combat to something macroscopic.
The appearance of juubi is also too shallow,
the intention of bringing up the moon's eye plan doesn't seem reasonable.
Imo,it is just silly.

Basically, that they would have gotten more focus if they were to be killed. That they wouldn't die because this is a shounen. Or yes, that some weird teleportation jutsu helped them escape. I just don't believe, or want to believe that they are dead. I'll be pretty upset if he is dead though.

Some of the best episodes in the anime have been those that have focused on the side effects of the war. The fact that Konohamaru doesn't know what exactly it entails. And that awesome team-up between the team Kankuro is leading in episode 262.

Sadly what you and me would like to see if not what Naruto is. I wish Naruto would be more seinen-ish, but it'd probably be less popular then.

Marhuto:
I don't want them dead either... let's just hope they aren't.
