It's settled then, the Japanese government in a coordinated plot (against the wishes of the manga creator) is attempting to brainwash young Americans into thinking of Hegemony in a negative light. The Japanese have totally given up negotiating with American politicians and have now resorted to brainwashing future generation to do their bidding!
It is not a hard ball to swallow considering Naruto is one of the most popular animated series worldwide since Dragonball Z.
Consumption will be high and so will efficacy of any potential subliminal brainwashing.

I would place Hinata closer to Naruto then Shikamaru because of the female crush/love factor that can/could evolve. She seems like a wife candidate.

I didn't mean stronger :P I meant the side character importance in his life (or potential). All of those characters are main characters in certain story arcs...
tsunade - Will die soon, so Naruto Can become Hokage, Main Char
jiraiya - Dead, Main Char
kakashi - Possibly dead, Main Char
sasuke - Main Char,
sakura - Stupid slut, Main Char,
frogs maybe count - Tenure in manga is problem. No marriage possibility that I know of.
