She may, or may not be dead, but Kakashi seems pretty confirmed by Tsunade and Naruto unless he's hidden himself very well and I doubt Kakashi would do that. But I cannot see why Hinata should be alive, Pein shouldn't have had a problem killing her when she's in that condition, and so far he haven't seen to show even the slightest amount of mercy, no matter who he faced.
