There's damn good reason Sasuke wouldn't know, and no one would tell him the truth of his back-story/motivation.
Naruto's "lonely misfit orphan who's looked down upon by all until he wins them over with friendship, hard work, and victory" back story/motivation is considerably less gripping when he's the son of the martyred Hokage, the fact that he wasn't aware of who his parents were seems too much of a convenience to spring on him this late into the series - given that, he should have provided a more solid reason then a vague "it'd be troublesome to discuss it".

It was less the issue of whether Sasuke would know as it was the fact that there was no way in hell the author had that in mind all the way back to the opening chapters.

I don't see why not. I fully believe that Sasuke is the main character of this manga :P

Seriously. How many arcs of "training" did Naruto have to go through for Sasuke to just look at someone funny and develop a new eye technique.

Madara seems a bit less subtle about it, but yeah, not a happy life.
