(Sheryl on Stage), and Infinity which are all by Sheryl only. The Nyan Nyan Special Service Medley (Tokumori) is with Sheryl and Ranka. No, I'm not being biased. Ranka's only good song is actually in the Nyan Nyan special service. If you listen to the Nyan Nyan song going 9:01 into it, that's like the epic favorite part!

Erm, isn't that the definition of biased? It's kind of impossible to pick your favorite songs without being biased since music is exclusively subjective.

It's awesome that they picked May'n and Nakajima Megumi to sing since it was the first anime role for both of them (although Sheryl has a different voice actor when she isn't singing). It would have sucked if they just selected two random popular voice actors, but instead they put a lot of work into selecting singers that really suited the characters.

Both the voice actors should be used in a lot more roles soon. They both deserve a cookie for being so awesome *shoves a cookie in his fax machine and hits -send-*.

I just ran by it when I was listening to the soundtrack. I forgot where it was in the anime until I stopped and actually listened to the lyrics and remembered Ranka in the carrot suit. The lyrics are quite funny actually. The song talks about life and having dreams and decently serious things, but then it ends every phrase with "carrot loves you yeah". Most Japanese songs don't make a lot of sense, but I can't imagine what people would think as they pass someone on the street singing this.

So I just went through my OST list and counted how many songs each girl has. I counted only the songs that the girls didn't do together and I included every song that had the character listed as the artist. Can someone confirm that Ranka has 30 and Sheryl only has 13? That's extremely one sided. I went back and only counted the songs actually featuring the girls (no instrumentals or repeat songs unless the repeat changed/was a different version) and the numbers were 15 Ranka, 9 Sheryl. If I were a Sheryl fan I would demand a movie and a movie soundtrack featuring her ;)

Kk, first of all. You counted songs that were already sang twice but in different tones or has different features in it. With that, she totals 13 songs (Ranka). Sheryl totals (with the same method you counted Ranka's method with) 14 songs. So you wanna count songs that are less thank a minute? 23 seconds and 26 seconds? If you count those, Ranka will come up with only 15 songs. But look over Sheryl, there is no song that has couple of seconds to be counted as a song. When I looked at your numbers, I went to Foobar to check their songs. I have no idea how you missed Sheryl's but 9 songs for her when she has this much fame? I doubt it. The songs On Stage do count, just like how you counted Watashi no Kare ha Pilot / Watashi no Kare ha Pilot -MISS MACROSS 2059-, Ai, Obeteimasu ka (and two other versions of hers). If you want to count just the songs without any additional features then the total would be 8 songs for Ranka and 10 songs for Sheryl. This is without counting similar songs (Triangler / Triangler something).

Forgot to mention, Ranka has a song with 1:03 ... wait, is it even considered a song?! Lol. That's the commercial one just like the other two which are less than a minute. I still counted it. Songs are literal songs that were written, spoken and demonstrated on stage ... not commercials.

Oh wow, now we actually have to argue the number of songs each of them have? Does it really matter at all? It's possible that you guys have a different number of OSTs, and as has been demonstrated, there's such an odd variety of songs that it's difficult to count them accurately. Plus, who decided songs have to be performed on stage? You're trying too hard to see in favor of Sheryl in every single little thing. This is sort of what I meant by your love for one character and dislike of another impeding your enjoyment of the series. Your method of counting songs is just nitpicky and biased.

Can't we just appreciate both girls for what they offer, and have are own favorites instead of arguing about things such as the quantity of songs?

I counted them fairly. I'd rather end this at peace rather than further arguments about this. Songs on stages either feature just the fans or/and extended song length. Besides the fact that he counted couple of songs that had little to no song re-arrangements. Similar shit to what he did right? Point your finger at him before you point it at me. Why not just count the actual songs with no other special features?

End of story. Count the songs yourself and tell me the numbers you come up with. Songs, not commercial shit.

I'm starting Macross Zero today (did I mention this some other day? I couldn't start at all, I was busy with the website).
