But man, this is one of those shows you know will never have a second season, but you want one bad, if not for the music alone. And I don't even listen to anime music.

I'm actually on Macross Zero, very very beautiful graphics. I remember dropping this around episode 4 (back then I was an anime newb). So ... Sara's Father is the voice actor of Kotomine from Fate/Stay Night!!!

And yes, if it wasn't for the music ... I don't think it would have received high ratings and such. I'm looking forward to the movie. I hope they add couple of new songs and do a state or two for Sheryl. Which Macross talks more about Sheryl's family? At least there is some connection between Macross Zero and Macross Frontier.

Edit -- Finished Macross Zero. So what the hell happened to Sara and Shin?! .... Onto the next series, was it SDF Macross? Nevermind. I can't even watch something this old ... extremely bad in everything ... I looked over Macross 7, I don't have a taste of watching it now. ;[

Macross 7 has a reputation for being tremendously polarizing for Macross fans. I definitely plan to watch the original Macross, but I can't say I'm terribly eager to sit through 7.

Hard to explain. One would say both are dead others would say they have left the physical level of existence and transcended to another level with the power of their love.

I don't think there are any more other relations to other series. There additional relations among the other series such as SDF Macross with Macross 7. Well, there could be a really small relation between Macross Frontier and Macross Plus but that's not concerning characters rather technology:

I love the anime, I'm not just that thrilled at the ending like Tatsujin and the others are. I was expecting something big at the ending considering they used a lot of their budget on that. I like all the songs although you won't be hearing me singing Triangler and Watashi no Kare ha Pilot (for obvious reasons).

I've been singing all of the songs out loud almost non-stop. My sister thought I was crazy because I was singing Aimo to myself while making pancakes the other morning. My neighbor heard me singing that Chinese restaurant theme while taking out the garbage and gave me a really funny look I should take out the garbage wearing nothing but a pair of neko ears next time, that would give him something to stare at lol.

Dude. You -need- to watch SDF Macross! Macross Frontier was practically modeled straight from SDF. There's so many references that you'll pick up in MF if you watch SDF. I don't care if the graphics are bad, the story is amaaaaaazing. And no, DYRL? doesn't cut it (even if the graphics are better!)

It's ... >_>;; Impossible at this point. I'm on episode 7 on Macross Frontier. The graphics are very horrible, animation, the sound ... I'm sorry .......... I can't watch something like that. =[

Edit -- came home, ate something quick. Sat down and finished episode 7 ... so epic. Sheryl's so pretty, and her songs are so awesome. That transformation for the Macross Ship blew me away at first ... Ah !!!

I just finished this today. It was amazing! It started to get kinda dry in episodes 15-20 (it seemed like half the episode was just Ranka singing the same song over and over) but overall the show was amazing. Also it's the only show that I've thought the mecha looked awesome instead of retarded.

Yea. The series did dry out as soon as Ranka took over the stage. Come to think of it, they've never giving her any special treatment like Sheryl did (outfit changing, flashy scenes, etc). I think right from where Sheryl and Ranka did the duel song on Alto ... right after that it started to dry a bit. After Sheryl picked up from where Ranka left off, it became more interesting. I actually thought the interesting parts were when Sheryl started to sing Diamond Crevasse when everyone lost hope ... Or was it when she was at Alto's house? I can't decided. I got sucked in more as soon as they started to talk about Sheryl's life ... tho' it is still incomplete and the fragments aren't well put together as to why Sheryl ended up on the streets? Her rise as a star?. I still enjoyed it regardless. Tho' I'm pretty sure the movie is going to be about Sheryl. ;]

I'm uploading a torrent this weekend with all the extra stuff that was left out, excluding the actual series which is already uploaded on BakaBT. ;] Maybe Friday night or Saturday morning.

It's gonig to get released around Thanks Giving of this year. I'm not sure if that's a theater release tho' if it does get released on Blu-ray then I'm pretty damn sure THORA will do it. Plus, Macross series is very famous so it won't get left out.

What's the reason for not licensing the series (and other Macross titles) to the states? There were problems ... I'm guessing the producers are asking for a large sum of money to get it licensed ... can't blame them if so.

Legalities. Harmony Gold and the Robotech franchise stand in the way of anyone wanting to bring Macross to the US, and although it's ultimately unlikely that they could contest it should Macross be licensed, the mere possibility of a lengthy (and costly, even if you win) lawsuit in the US isn't something most companies look forward to; the profit margins on anime aren't exactly stellar to begin with.
