I suggest to read over Wikipedia (once again). Most questions you ask are answered in there. Those "voices" that you hear are those whom are with Grace. There isn't much discussed about them since the series never explained who they are and what they are. Grace originally was a human, but then the Varja attacked her and screwed up her experiments with Ranka and her brother and whatever else she was doing and that ultimately pissed her off very much. Her thoughts "So you think you're better than us, attacking us? I'll over come this and will sacrifice everything to take you over, to overpower you, to control you" <-- These were her thoughts, in the anime they are different and in wikipedia it will explain further why she became so obsessed with taking over them. They just pissed her off a lot. Those OTHER voices that you hear were always within Macross Galaxy (was the name? Sheryl's homeland I think also the first Movie which will most likely be about Sheryl and the Galaxy and Grace) were most likely those who worked with Grace on her projects and were also killed off, in which most were saved by Grace (read wikipedia). The first movie should explain more about Grace's work and whomever was with her in her projects and also about Sheryl and the "missing" connection of her existence, how she ended up on Galaxy and why she was thrown on the streets before Grace took her in, and her rise to becoming famous as well. My fingers are tired, today sucked at work.

I'm not talking about the "Galaxian" collective inside Grace but (click to show/hide)about the men in black (lol -.-) who met Kishima in that café in (I think) Legend of Zero and in another episode when Luca was in Kishima's office one of them appeared as well. Both included the Fold quartz crystals. But then later in that same episode Grace stands behind Kishima but in that same blacksuit as these unknown men and Kishima seemd to me to be somehow surprised and said that she's a dangerous woman or somthing in that direction.
