Shinsen subs had both a personal issue for one of their members and the first encode got messed up.  Should be out some time later today or tomorrow.

Damn. When I said it was going to be worth the wait, that was a huge understatement ;/. That was probably one of the best episodes I've seen so far of the series and it just makes me love it even more. The music was fantastic, and the quality of the visuals was simply to die for. They couldn't do better if they tried, and
(click to show/hide)
made me fall in love with Ranka even more ;/. I've had a different picture of her as my desktop background from every episode since this series has started lol.

But yeah...definitely have to watch this episode if you haven't already. It's extravagant, and definitely have to watch the SERIES if you haven't yet. It truly is one of the best I've ever seen.

Episode 7 was awesome. Too awesome.

- KOENIG MONSTER ON RAMPAGE
- MACROSS CANNON
- "Stay close to me so you can smell my ass!"
- Bobby, hotblooded, guy's got an afro, and a bandanna.
- Hey, another Valkyrie? The true person behind Vajra?

By the way, [Gattai] subs are out about three days ago. Slowpoke, but they did the subs very well. Apparently the translator was out partying. So this week, [Gattai] should have them up more quickly.

I watched episode 8 last night. The visuals have definitely dropped just as predicted considering how high they were last week but it was still a good episode. As much as it pains me to say...they are leaning more and more towards a Sheryl x Alto coupling ;/. But maybe they just want you to believe thats the way they are going to go and then give us Ranka x Alto as it should be ;p

I think I'm gonna stop watching it, looks like it's quickly turning into some"do you like her or me?" romance anime.

:O BITE YOUR TONGUE!!!! Not watching Macross Frontier is a sin.

;/ Seriously though don't stop yet lol. Macross has always had a romance theme to it since the original came out, but it has always been action packed and pleasing for even those who are just watching it because of the giant robots lol. You'll miss the rest of a fantastic series if you stop watching now :p (although I will admit one of the huge reasons I am watching it is because of the "do you like her  or me" ;x I love the love triangles <3)

lol, I'll still watch it to see what happens next, this is my first macross series anyway.
Just as long as the love triangle doesn't take over the series.

lol, I just watched episode 9 and that was definitely an interesting moment Sunakage ;p

I liked the episode overall. I'm starting to wonder if maybe Brera is going to end up with Ranka? At this point, I don't care who ends up with Ranka (okay not entirely true ;x) as long as she does get some romance scene -_-. Alto is still my #1 want to see them together, but in the event he ends up with Sheryl (Ill be disappointed), I wouldn't be totally sad if he ended up with Brera despite him seeming to be quite evil.

O_O I watched Episode 10 just now.

Omg, if you haven't watched it yet, you must.

As far as the Ranka thing goes,
(click to show/hide)

Brera really is giving off a vibe now that he might be similar to Touya Mizuki from Ayashi No Ceres. I was also somewhat surprised
(click to show/hide)
but the whole
(click to show/hide)
really reminded me of Ceres. I'm thinking that if Alto doesn't get Ranka (which I am still really hoping he does because it's perfect), Brera might actually have a chance.

Such a good episode all together. Reminded me once again why I love that series so much.

I  just finished watching Macross Frontier and I'd like to ask one question.

How does everyone (Vajra and Humans/Zentardi) hear the songs even when they're in space???

I don't think i saw any ears on the Vajra.

That Vajra don't actually hear the song, so much as they feel the fold waves. I'd assume the humans can hear them through radio waves coming out the speakers in their vessels.

~R

Pretty much - they're both using microphones on stages in the command towers (complete with special effects!), therefore allowing the songs to be broadcast to anyone who cares to listen, such as pilots and the poor civilians.  The Vajra hear the song (or, more precisely, the emotions behind the song transmitted through the fold waves) through the symbiotic microorganism in their gut that allows them to become the hive-mind they are.  Ranka, being born with an infection of said bug, has them in her gut as well living normally (which is WHY the Vajra always responded to her).  Sheryl, on the other hand, was infected with it post-partum (by Grace?), which although giving her some of the empathic powers (amplified by her fold quartz earrings) made it a terminal illness that finishes in the brain of the victim.  Ranka fixed that little issue.

This is called out multiple times - note that whenever the fold waves are dragged into the equation, the gut of whomever is affected (Ranka in the beginning of the episode, every Vajra, etc) glows when the effect takes place ;)

They are basically the same. I went lunar for personal preference but there really is no difference.
