I, Robot wasn't that bad.

But this movie... it looks like it's going to join the likes of "AWESOME MOVIES" such as kungpow...

Kung Pow was utterly hilarious.

This movie will probably give me a lifetime nightmares if I watch it.

Making a generic action movie with moderately well-done special effect, Will Smith, and a simple Frankenstein Complex ending, fine.

Calling such a movie I, Robot is where you've gone wrong, seriously wrong.

Unfortunately, most people who watch movies are simpletons.

"I, Robot" OMFG ROBOT! KEKEKEKE IS EXCELLENT AND ON TOPIC!

"Dragon Ball" A BALL! OMFG KEKKEKE IS EXCELLENT AND ON TOPIC AND HOT CHICKS!

Moderate special effects?  You need to see it in high def.

I'm also sick of arguing movie quality with avid book readers about how Hollywood butchers their beloved novels on the big screen....get over it, it's been going on for years now.  Same thing will happen with this movie: anime/manga fans will bitch about how badly they butchered it and I'll be there saying "I told you not to get exited about it."

The only time I actually care is when they make a shitty movie and end up confusing the hell out of readers of the book/manga AND the person who didn't read it. For instance... the FIRST Incredible Hulk. (Second one was pretty decent IMO). The first one was like... Umm... what the fuck is going on?

Piccolo.... He's like the villain from Lazy Town with some face paint on.

Also is that kid that plays Goku the same guy from Wanted? That was by far the worst movie in the world. But totally worth seeing just so you know for sure how bad it was. Maybe Dragonball will be the same.

The concept of wanted was pretty cool. I just hated how that boy was kinda emo ish.

I also hate Tobey Maguire for acting like a pansy.

They didn't just "butcher it", they did something almost completely unrelated to the book - or rather the serialization.

The special effects aren't particularly imaginative, something like A.I. was far cooler.

Uhh... the same could be said about "I am Legend".

But seriously... since when was Dragon Ball about babes, guns and cars?

The original dragonball had plenty of babes, cars and guns... More fighting then anything, and it didn't focus on it, but there was quite a bit. I know what you mean though.

I, Robot is a special case. No part of the movie has any conceivable relation to the book other than the fact that there are Robots in it. You could argue that there is a connection to Asimov's novel Caves of Steel, (awesome book) because it's about a detective who's investigating a murder in a similiarly styled city, but the things they do ... uggh. It'd be like if they made a Lord of the Rings movie where Frodo keeps the ring for himself, turns into a super-sayan, and fights Sauron in a four hour duel to the death. It's a slap in the face of everything the original work was meant to stand for.

The picture of Will Smith pissing on Asimov's grave is very applicable.

I would pay to see that movie. You should be a script writer.

If there are gonna be any four hour duels with super saiyans you better make sure that 90% of that duel is comprised of pointless dialogue or it'll be slapping the spirit of super saiyans in the face as well.

Since this is dragonball and not dragonballz, shouldn't they have got someone who looks more like a teenager to play goku? Yeh i know last part of dragonball goku is almost fully grown in the last tournment + piccolo battle. Not that such a detail will make a diffrence in the end. Im expecting an epic fail. Peeps who never seen db/dbz before will prolly think 'What a load of shit!' after seeing this movie =P

In the trailers, he definitely looks younger then me. I'm in my late 20's, so I don't think they did a horrible job as far as age goes. (on second look, the actor is younger then me)

I take issue with the emo personality though. What's with all these emo main characters anyways?

If someone told me I was gonna be the defender of humanity, I'd be like train me old man. Lets do this muthafucka. Leeroy Jenkins style bitches.

Of course I'd have a camera crew around me ala Mr. Satan cause I'd still want to get paid for my fame of saving the earth.

Well it's bs that goku is some kinda emo =/ As grandpa gohan said, he was a vicious little kid until one day he feel down a ravine and hit his head. Ever since that day he's transformed into a total innocent (one that will kick the shit outta u, but won't kill u thats all)......with zero knowledge of females which always proved amusing when it came to whats her name ;D

Why the hell would i wanna see goku crying and moaning like shinji from eva? =/ The real goku is the most motivated martial artist in exsistence. Recall that it was his attitude that transformed every person he met, since alot of chars started out nasty/evil and got converted to good through goku. Would the emo way of achiving this be to promise to kill them via emo aura of depression unless they change their ways? :D

I can't recall Goku engaging in somber introspection, or listening to emotional rock.

Every moderately good martial arts film quickly moves to the asskicking, those who fail to acknowledge this do so at their own peril - so long as they keep that in mind, the plot and acting can be empty and pointless as per usual. If I'm confronted with faux depth depressed Goku for much longer than my weak attention span can sustain, rioting will occur.
