Spice and Wolf

Nvidia Purevideo decoder is supposed to allocate some of the burden to your video processor if you have a 6xxx series or higher. I highly recommend it because I'm running a E6400 2.13 overclocked to 2.68 (I can overclock my CPU to 3.10, but I don't like the temp under load.) and I can play every HD movie (720, 1080) without any noticeable effects. I play all my HD stuff on my HD bigscreen. I'm running a 6600GT. (Actually going to be upgrading here in the next couple days however)

Back when it was released, no. But with Penryns replacing Conroes, this level of performance is already mainstream, isn't it?

Both nVidia & ATi have hardware support for h264, but not in all of their cards, and the ones which are often victimized in this department are performance cards, such as G80-based ones...

Not really, the E8200/E8400 are still more expensive than the usual "mainstream" chips nowadays... The E7200 ($120) is the mainstream part now.

But yeah, hardware support for h264 is common on new GPUs, but apparently it's not as useful as it should (I think this has a thread on Playback).

Anyways, it seems there won't be a new season of Spice and Wolf coming soon... While that happens, Naruto is on episode number ~400 and Pokemon has achieved God-like status as the money cow.

Nikran:
my mate tried making me watch Naruto. He thinks it's amazing, i just can't see whats suppoed to be good about it though :-\ at 400 eps your looking at 50-75% filler eps alone, hoho =P

Least i have plenty to get on with while waiting for a new season of spice and wolf, if there is gonna be one =P

Dakkar:
Hm... Well, Phenoms can't really put up a fight, so it looks like Intel was able to keep prices high for a longer time. A pity...

Naruto, Pokemon & others are rather cheap shows which, despite that, are extremely popular and bring you lots of money because of that. Spice and Wolf not only based on novels, which naturally limits how far you can extend the series, but also has quite a high level of detalization and requires careful directing and script writing. Together with good graphics, sound and seiyu cast, it makes show expensive, but is it all that popular? I guess it's unlikely that crowds of 12-years old kids are going to watch it :)
I still hope to see a sequel, but I don't think the show is going to go past 26 episodes...
