Come on, that's easy. Just look at the size of the boobs. Fox-girls are meant for fan-service, so they are loaded with silicon, while wolf-girls are all natural :D

Ha, ha. I can see it now . . . . . Someone manages to find the Spice and Wolf novels and runs them through the online debabelizer translator. Then they upload the novels and people complain about the translation quality. However, since the translation is the only one available, everyone downloads it!!!!!
