but is it all that popular? I guess it's unlikely that crowds of 12-years old kids are going to watch it

The market in Japan is different. A show that is popular with the 16+ crowd can easily make it big (see lucky star) They have channels which are saturated with anime intended for adults similar to American shows like adult swim. If I recall correctly, Haruhi was aired after 10pm. (not to sure, but heard this was case. I don't live in Japan)

I've watched through episode 6 and I'm impressed. I was concerned it would be more of a witch hunt, but its not. I'm not looking forward to the end however. Its pretty obvious how this story will end, and I don't like those kinds of endings (the "I love you, but I'm going to disappear now" kind).

Don't worry. I think you'll find the ending will leave u feeling satisfied.

Yeah, the Good Lord has bestowed the blessing of a non-terminal ending. I was expecting them to reach the north but for some reason has to use up the last of the wheat. I suppose I can expect more from this. It was excellent. The execution and the basis were both well above average. The basis itself isn't special, but the way it was executed was very unique.

Hm... Well, Phenoms can't really put up a fight, so it looks like Intel was able to keep prices high for a longer time. A pity...

Naruto, Pokemon & others are rather cheap shows which, despite that, are extremely popular and bring you lots of money because of that. Spice and Wolf not only based on novels, which naturally limits how far you can extend the series, but also has quite a high level of detalization and requires careful directing and script writing. Together with good graphics, sound and seiyu cast, it makes show expensive, but is it all that popular? I guess it's unlikely that crowds of 12-years old kids are going to watch it :)
I still hope to see a sequel, but I don't think the show is going to go past 26 episodes...

Hmm, just gimme a second series with another 12 eps or something. I checked up on the novals, theres 8 of them and i think we only covered mostly vol 1 and little bit of 2. Plenty of story to work with for a second season ;D

The demographic group that is most likely to contribute funds to anything is not the pokemon-aged group. Adults have more money and tend to be larger spenders then children. As a result I would expect commercials during these shows to pay more and also, while the number of viewers may be lower, the number of viewers willing to spend is higher.

So popularity isn't the only thing to consider.

Well, adults often tend to simply DVR the show in order to watch it when it's convenient for them, which, among other things, allows to skip commercial. Second, you don't have that much time for advertisement, and it has to match the type of a show at least a little bit, so even if people watch them, sheer numbers still matter more.
As far as i understand, they make a lot of money selling supporting products, like DVD's, novels, figurines, etc. (remember Lucky Star :D). This is something kids are more likely to buy, and they're usually persistent enough to leach enough money from the parents. Besides, some teenagers take part-time jobs entirely to support their hobbies, while adults plan their budget in a different way.
And actually, there's no guarantee that Spice and Wolf is popular amongst all the adults. It's quite unusual and I doubt everyone likes it...

I was waiting for the Fate Stay Night ending where
(click to show/hide)

I'm hoping for more episodes.  I like this style of character design AND animation AND certain facial poses similar to the ones in Murder Princess.

Spoiler tags please.

Spice and Wolf is a story you enjoy for how they get there.  Pretty much any ending will disappoint since the journey is over.

Hm, guys in Oinari-sama have a fox-girl, but they seem to have serious issues with money... Or may be it's because that fox-girl turns into a fox-guy on a whim? :D

Opps sorry. it's wolf-girls = good luck, fox-girls = bad luck :D

Trying to tell them apart is half the challenge when trying to make a profit in the present day world of merchants ::)

Come on, that's easy. Just look at the size of the boobs. Fox-girls are meant for fan-service, so they are loaded with silicon, while wolf-girls are all natural :D

Are the novels finished?   The translated novels would certainly be worthwhile to upload to BoxTorrents.

Ha, ha.  I can see it now . . . . .  Someone manages to find the Spice and Wolf novels and runs them through the online debabelizer translator.  Then they upload the novels and people complain about the translation quality.  However, since the translation is the only one available, everyone downloads it!!!!!

Nope, is it good? AniDB says it's about vampires, and the rating is not that high :)

Eh, I have to overcome my laziness and start reading books in English which aren't required for the work :D

Master of Mosquiton is a shitty anime. by "shitty" I mean it has one or two redeeming qualities which are easily overwhelmed by the bad. It does have a "wolf-girl" of sorts. Her name is Wolf-chan. She is the PE teacher (I think).

Heh, quite an original name :D Is she there for fanservice? Because PE teacher is the second choice after nurse in that case...
