Not having seen shaman king, thats not an issue for me. I like it. I mostly am fond of the HD. So pretty.

I just think it will end up being a Bleach like affair.

It will get overly long, overplayed and bland. *but only if it got popular enough!*

I wasn't a fan. The 1st episode impressed me slightly (especially the OP sequence), but the 2nd episode bored me to tears. I don't think I'm going to follow it...

I typically wait 3 episodes before making that decision. After three episodes you can almost certainly tell where the next 10 episodes are going. There are exceptions. There was one last year. The one with the foreign female body gaurd who takes care of the emperor. I expected the stereotypical "spoiled brat introduced into the real world" show.

[edit] Oh, those never ending animes are hard to predict. I thought Bleach was going to be moderately respectable...boy was I wrong.

Seirei no Moribito was awesome...

Anyway, as for this, I haven't watched it, but I have read about all of the manga that's out for it, and I don't know how the hell they're going to make 51 episodes (anidb page) out of so few chapters... they're only at like 24 chapters right now; they'll have to keep making chapters, and damn fast...

Cute, huh?

Your only looking at whats posted on like one manga or a website that translated to english there are 11 volumes of this released and they have only translated up to part of volume 7 into english. I watched the first episode and liked it so I read the manga and liked it even more. I will be following this show for sure.

I like it, I just hope this series doesn't get too popular like Naruto and Bleach.

I like it.A lot actually.I am waiting to see the guy with the two chicks as weapons. And Bones is in charge of the production so the chances of it not being good are really small.I don't think it will be the new FMA but at least it looks like it will deliver some intense and crazy action sequences along with great music and some funny moments.

I want to see more of Maka's dad.

Oh, true, I didn't consider this was being made in Japan, not the US, and not from fansubbed versions of the manga, so they probably do indeed have enough material.

On the other hand, I just hope they don't fuck it up, and decide to screw the manga (though in some cases, that worked out; take Darker than Black, a great anime, but then when I went and decided to look at the manga.. and it was almost like it was in another world)

On a random note, I just realized that season two of XXXHolic's out and has been subtitled up to episode three. Hurray! <_<;;
... and then also noticed that Saiunkoku Monogatari's still dead... Hurrugh...

Cute, huh?

I think that manga derived anime mostly run into problems when they haven't finished. Most notably Bleach and Naruto. Claymore also suffered from this I feel (it started to suck near the end). This has a fixed number of episodes which is paramount. I don't know if the manga has been completed though. That is, as I had said, important.

the manga isnt finished but they already planned on airing 51 episodes, which means they probably have an idea of where they are going to finish before they start. Hopefully it wont end up like Dgrayman were it becomes popular and they decide not to end it.

hmmm...as long as they don't try to make up episodes like quite a few anime try to do we should be fine.

Of course, I'm speaking as though I know it will be good. I'm not. I'm just discounting one concern. I still have only see 1 episode.

The show is really interesting. Soul is definitely my favorite character. Sucks that it's only going to be 51 episodes. :-\

Are you sane? "sucks that its only going to be 51 episodes"?!  Would you prefer that it become a never ending story like Bleach or Naruto?

Yes, I'm sane. And 100 episodes would be better, but no, I don't want it to end up like Bleach or Naruto. :D I just don't want it to be like Kekkaishi where I heard the ending was incomplete because it was too short. :-\

Well, the limiting factor here is the manga. I don't know about you "sane" people, but I don't want them to hit episode 51 and then have episodes 52 through 100 be nothing more then filler episodes.

I've only seen the late night version. I can't imagine what they would feel the need to cut out.
