What's wrong with you people?  Excalibur episodes were the worst.  I wanted to shoot the people that added the later fillers using Excalibur.  Naruto fillers didn't get me near as upset, though IMO had the same mentality.  Oh well, I shouldn't be surprised, since some people did enjoy Naruto fillers too ;)
Lol,Aww come on it wasn't that bad.
Yes at some points I wanted to reach in to the tv and strangle the blighter, but, some of the best characters are the ones you love to hate.

i can honestly say that i havent fast forwarded or skipped many anime episodes when i watch a series. However every time i saw excalibur i ended up watching about 45 seconds of the episode after watching the first excalibur episode

So I found this manga today here, and for some reason I started downloading it. (I don't really like reading manga on my pc.)

I also found out there's an anime of the series, but I couldn't find it on Box or anywhere else where I could download it.
I'd really love to see this in anime form, the art style is amazing and the story looks cool so far too. :)

So the question, which group has subbed it (or which is the best) and is the anime as cool as the manga is?

Wow, I thought soul eater was a really good show, of course it has it's moments of unbelievability but, there's witches....and magic....I don't think your presumtions of your reality should be imposed on fiction, and when found lacking should be judged as lacking.  Also what's with everyones aversion to filler, first off you can't even tell unless you read the manga, and constantly judging anime against manga, why? They're different forms of media and should be treated as such, if there's things in the anime that aren't in the manga, it may not help the story, but it doesn't worsen anything.  For example Bleach fillers, I didn't even know they were fillers until someone told me...and I liked them just as much as the rest of the 'real' show.

On a different note, THIS IS IN HD! dammit I watched every soul eater episode streamed via myspacetv in about 120x80...bad call on my part.  And I thought the story was fairly good, the characters were awesome and although the ending was a bit lame, it was fitting and to be expected and overall enjoyable.  I definately recommend this to anyone who likes a good laugh and doesn't critisize because the laws of the real world aren't adhered to.

I have to agree with the people saying its a great show, and that its ending was terrible. they really shouldnt have jammed everything in together toward the end to end the series. They were forced to change alot of things from the manga that i happened to like.
(click to show/hide)

They couldnt exactly wait and follow the manga due to the fact that the manga is still going on a monthly basis so it would take a very long time, or they would have had to put in a ton of fillers.
but i recommend that for the people who are disappointed with the ending read the manga, you will see what you missed ;p.

Lol, it's on the same page xD

1.

1-33 Tadashi, 34-36 Anonymous, 37-40 Tsubaki-Subs, 41-51 Tsubaki-Hatsuyuki.

That is if you want HD and don't care about the late show.

2. Depends, most of the anime is great, while the manga is almost always great. Watch the show and then read the manga is my advice.

EDIT: This is a reply to the recent Soul Eater topic that got deleted, didn't just write this for kicks...

Um, not sure what to say about the anime. I thought it was cool, but then there was something about it that just didn't make it quite good. Like it was trying too hard to be cool if you know what I mean. As others have mentioned already the ending wasn't very good.

Even though they had to end the anime, I agree, it could've ended much better and less cliche-ish. My advice, read the manga. It's more realistic. Also, read from the beginning.

read manga if you can, then watch the anime, otherwise don't rant about deviations, but usually anime is different than manga, and in most cases to fully understand an anime that was unexplained (FSN) you should read the manga/play the game/think about it/do a poop in the restroom for less pressure.

I think it's "Dub", and no, hence why we don't watch it ;]

If I want to see Soul Eater again I'll just pull up a few of the DVDs and plug external and I'm ready to go, but it's a lengthy series so.... ughh... would take a while for me to finish it..

figure this is the best place to ask this. I had initially looked at this  when i i was d.loading a buncha stuff a while back but forgot about it. I just finished posting on the anime identification thread trying to identify some scenes from an AMV i saw (threads here http://forums.bakabt.me/index.php?topic=21826.0 still a few undetermined if anyone wants to take a look) and the one that i really enjoyed turned out to be from soul eater. I looked up some info on it and found out its done by Bones who i love and i guess it has the dame director as Gunparade march and Kurau. Both of which i loved. Im on the hunt to give it a d.load, but i have some questions

first off its just 51 epps right? No movies or OAV specials? I couldn't seem to find any

2nd: i guess theres a cut and uncut version out there? Im having trouble finding the whole series since it was split up by different studios. the one i found is as follows
Episodes 1-28 by Rumbel (uncut aka latenight episodes)
Episodes 29-35 by AllHailExcalibur (uncut aka latenight episodes)
Episodes 36-38 by Hatsuyuki
Episodes 39-51 by Hatsuyuki-Tsubaki

obviously 1-35 will be uncut, but does anyone know if Hatsuyuki/Hatsuyuki-Tsubaki used the uncut ones as well?  If not, does anyone know what group finished it up uncut? i want to get them all that way if possible

and totally seperate question.. i havent read through much of this thread because i didn't want spoilers, but is this a pretty decent show that i will probably enjoy based on what i mentioned above and my list below? The style is definatly appealing to me at least =) Im just hoping the story doesn't get bogged down since its a longer series

Great series as long as it follows the manga. It diverges from the manga at about 32/33 I believe and from then on it plummets into ridiculousness or at least in my opinion. Probably due to the fact that the last arc of the anime was still being written in the manga and so they had to change the entire story so it would fit into their 51 episodes and so they could actually finish on time. Watch the anime but then go back and read the manga. Much better storyline.

I didn't realize there was an uncut version but I don't see much use for it really... maybe with Blair but thats another story. I have Hatsuyuki-Tsubaki for 39+ and I don't really notice a difference so I couldn't say.

So basically. Great series. Loved the art. Loved the characters. Loved the battles. But only loved the story up to 32. Can't comment on the uncut versions. Sorry.

tnx that answers the length question and what its like.. soundsl ike the plot does take a nose dive. does it at least wrap up well?

the uncut question is the important part for me. i hate edited stuff.

I would watch it for the fights probably.

And no. After doing a quick check around Hatsuyuki-Tsubaki used the normal version not the uncut.

I'm not sure anyone has done them, last thing I heard was the AllHailExcalibur was doing them, but haven't seen any activity from them. Just get those you listed in your first post, there's not much of a difference, just longer previews. You won't miss a thing in the actual show. Using the term "uncut" is wrong since it gives a feeling that there's something that has been cut out, but it's not like that. In the Late Night Show something has been added.

And the end is a bit iffy, but really, the show up to that point is SO worth it. There's a reason Funimation licensed it. ;)
