well I would like to see a sig/ava made of that picture, but just posting it there are asking for a feedback without anything else, this is not a rating topic.
If he asked for a sig/ava from that pic, someone could pick it up, En is busy for a while so he doesn't even check the forum at all, Tatsu could pick it up as request, but just posting a pic and asking for rating is simply wrong in this topic.

This thread has been dead for at times 5 months? Because the requesters didn't even know what they wanted, the set they wanted was either, wrong / not available / out of reach.

The makers here mostly make sigs for themselves because they know themselves best.
I've tried requesting for sets before and it was terrible, i am a very picky person, and the style varies on the artist making it, if the request the artist made was off we'd be there remolding it until i forfeited.

I just happened to run into failboat's showcase by luck, and knew he could create the ultimate set.

Now if artists are not encouraged to post their showcases, be it self made images or Ava Sig sets how are the requesters supposed know who to pick for a request? How are they supposed to know what effects they like, Especially those who have said images at hand?

I've actually done some signatures and avatars on behalf of those who requested a set from whomever feels like making them a set -- this was a long time ago. So when I completed it and posted it, other creators posted their sets and they went with their sets. I'm not saying my set should have been picked. It was their choice. But my time and effort went to shits, thinking "I hope they like this" and "I'll add this or that and give it a little color here and there". So I'm not going to make anyone any set if they randomly request it by anyone, example would be "Can someone please make me a set?". If you ask me directly publicly or privately, then I'll make you a set (if I have the time). If you don't, I'm not.

It takes about 15 to 30 minutes to complete a set (excluding the anime sticking out, takes longer to finish if the picture needs to be edited). But I do planning and picture hunting and put some effort in the sets. When I show previous sets in a PhotoShop spoiler, it's mostly elements I borrowed from (text drag and drop, looking at custom blending options, copy/paste blending options, etc) which usually is between 20% to 40% of the time, or to see what I have done in those previous sets that I want to do and add something extra to it. All brushes, blend modes, rendered pictures, original pictures and basically everything else (roughly 95% of what you see) in each set are not the same as any of my previous works. They are always different and nothing original is copied over. Only the styles seem similar. Sebs has some of my work and he can confirm that.

If you have bothered to look around, we do not have a GFX board. The Wallpaper thread at most, is a high speed train station with people hitting the request button every 5 seconds. That thread is geared towards desktop gadgets and Wallfreebies, trying to hold a conversation there related to photoshop tech is ludicrous.

not so hard to make a new topic for picture one made feedback lol, seriously, it's the lounge, any topic can be made here easily, if you have problems with that, I see why you defend him so hard, like I said if he wanted a sig or avatar out of that pic I would be just fine with it, might even make one, but that was simply the wrong place to post it.

What amazes me is you of all people are trying to uphold the rules. newy even said herself that if this forum was not this laidback she would've already banned you.

You know exactly what i mean. Chiyachan and newy didn't start hounding you for no reason whatsoever.

You never end a discussion properly, you are noted for jumping to several contradictory facts within a discussion for the sole propose of never admitting your errs, your posts are ether worded vaguely or clouded with endless double standards so you can never be pinned down.
If you are proved incorrect you ether ignore said post or shift unto another discussion until said user gives up.

I have let this pass numerous times because it just wasn't worth the effort derailing the thread, correcting the boundless holes in your discussions. You don't get banned, you wont leave the thread, you essentially become the white elephant in the room everyone has to ignore if they want to get anywhere resembling a actual discussion.

if you have anything solid do so on PMs, I ask second time, will not ask again, and will simply ignore further discussion about this in this topic, and if you are so curious about it, there are no rules preventing users from pointing out rules of certain topics, that topic has been numerously discussed on IRC and so far no rule enforcement about this has been done, if you find me upholding rules strange, someone so righteous like you, should just stay silent about it, instead of defending rule breaking users.

to me this discussion is over and can be only continued over PMs.

End? More like make sure the topic is not even worth discussing anymore, the mod interference is mostly caused by them trying to save the thread as you send the discussion on a downward spiral, i know it wont end over the PM it sure as hell won't fix your trollantics.

And there are no rules saying that he cant ask of peoples opinions about the quality of a image, you were the one that decided to drag it out of hand, we hadn't even gotten to the point of what he wanted to do with the image yet.

I completely agree with this. Most people come and say "I want a sig, do as you see fit". So what I propose is that requesters fill out this form as DETAILED as possible:

Size: (The size you want in pixels, the sig to be)
Picture/Render: (Link the render/stock you want to be used in your sig here)
Style: (Abstract,grunge,photomanip,etc.)
Text: (What text you want in your sig)
Colors: (The colors you'd like in the sig)
Other: (Any additional info you'd like in the sig)

This makes the life of any graphics artist 100000% easier. I used to make sigs for people and it bothered me to hell and back if this would please the receiver or not. GFX artists DO NOT like to worry about that. So to everyone here, be considerate and fill out this form if you're requesting for a sig or avatar.

I would like to see this edited in the first post so no new idiots come here with their needs and can't specify what they exactly want.

I'll dump the anime-planet one for the .png one, those jpeg artifacts are killing my eyes.

The funny thing is that when I exported it as .jpeg from the original .png I made sure to tweak the settings so that the compression artifacts would not be noticeable, but when I uploaded it to anime-planet they re-compressed it as .jpeg with their own settings after adding the user stats, which screwed everything up. If their filesize limit would have been 100KB instead of 50KB then I could have used the .png and all those nasty artifacts wouldn't have been any problem.

Wow pretty, you can put a transparent border at the button so when you attach it to the anime planet sig, the black border doesn't interfere with the sig.

edit:

Anime planet doesn't have .png? The image suffers too much from the .jpeg compression i see.

kudos to you for restraining yourself and using this thread for its original purpose. though it's nice, i think an animated sig would be better.
