At first glance, definitely the first one. I like that transition-effect.

Is there anything else different between those two that I didn't see?

^^Good to hear, so may eyes aren't complete failing me yet.

In that case I would definitely say number 1, since it integrates better into the site.

However I find it somewhat irritating that the character is upside-down. Intentional?
EDIT: It was intentional....

Where does it come from? Series? Movie?.....

I think it's great, but your Hitagi still beats them down, may I suggest simply adding a few elements to your Hitagi one instead ?

She's intentionally upside down. The rest of the picture is upright that way, if I rotate it like that then everything else looks kinda weird (the pillars, the arc in the bg, etc). She isn't from anything (I think), I got the pic from an artist on Pixiv named Fujihara (藤原) and I named the character Tomo.

Removed the white on the left, couldn't see it at first since I have flux installed and it is night now xD :

I think I'm going to "test" this one for a while to see if I like it enough to keep it for a longer time.

And Havoc, I've pondered over what to add to my Hitagi sig when I first made it. It looked too empty to me, after many hours I still had no idea and thus I left it like that. But fear not, Hitagi will come back.... someday.

OK i got you. I wasn't able to see any direction at all since that glass-roof on the left upper corner seemed normal to me. One question left: What's with the background in the area near her foot?

You mean the part that I left straight? Well in the original picture both sides were straight, I blended the left side into the smoke since it worked so well there but on the right side that was a lot harder. My best attempt didn't look very pretty so I decided to keep that part the same.
Maybe if I would spent like X hours reconstructing the smoke on the right then maybe I could do the same as I did on the left but I don't have the energy for that

The reason why it doesn't work as good as on the left side is because the colors on the left clash too much with the white and thus it looks ugly when trying to fade it out.

kind of odd seeing you without Hitagi, got so used to her there :)

could you PM me that sig with Hitagi ? didn't snach it, I'd like to try and do something in my free time.

I made a new sig, but was out of ideas for a new avatar ... so I reused an old one.

Will probably make a more fitting ava... soon™.

First attempt at using photoshop, btw.
